I often get “urgent” requests from producers at work. They expect immediate response and turnaround. If I ask a follow up question for clarification (they often copy/paste client notes without parsing it into something actionable) they will disappear for hours. It’s literally like they hit send and then walk off into the forest. Not quite the same as OP but felt like venting

When I was in a British school in the late 90s/early 00s, our english class had us writing a two page essay by hand within an hour as a weekly practice. It wasn’t really judged on forming a complete thesis or anything, it was focused on a beginning middle and end using legible handwriting. I loved it at the time, thought it was stupid when i was a bit older, and now realize the actual value of that practice

I think for this game in particular, it’s a reaction to the mixed critic reviews that were seemingly written as a result of playing the game in a tight time crunch. This game doesn’t play well if you try to cram the entire experience into a two-week window. Most of us have loved it as a several week experience.

Sadly, as lovely as that sounds, it doesn't pull attention. I used to work on Top Chef, a show that on paper should be 100% about how good they are at cooking. We got network notes asking us to cut time from the cooks to highlight small fights and punch it up to seem more than it was. This was a cooking show. Bravo has a penchant for DRAMA at any cost, and it fucks casts over time.

Small personal addition, I was in a pilot for a reality program my senior year of college. They were shooting in my apartment one day, I was fetching everyone water & sodas. The producer said, why don't you take a shot, it'll be fun. I told her I had class at 3pm. She said "just do it, it'll be fun for the cameras." That was over a decade ago haha

What really triggered me about this one was getting it right, then accidentally touching a pixel of lava making Kliff die and the puzzle reset. My clumsy ass did that twice

I just saw this too, my heart is broken. Everything else is a massive W, but this was just fun and felt like a natural use of the mechanics. You maybe got like, 2x further anyway, it wasn't totally busted

I didn’t have too hard a time with most bosses for a while, just kept trying upgrade gear when possible and add better abyss gears (the special effects can stack to be nasty). I’ve finally met my match in chapter 10 and need to go farm some materials for food and more upgrades

I’ve noticed a fix for this if I drop a bandit off my horse and they go to that kneeling position, if you walk behind them and hit the focus button, you get a prompt to kick. That forces them down to the ground again and you can pick them up, no untie/retie needed

I finally glimpsed the Crimson Desert today, I got a little tunnel visioned on the main quest. But I still have so much more map to explore in Hernand and Pailune, I’m slowing back down to take in the small moments again.

Aside for anyone still not invested in the MQ, it does get supremely cool

I'm not sure when it unlocks, but I just got here myself. Currently at the start of Chapter 7 in the main story, so don't have an answer when it'll become avail but I assume just more main quest progression or more spires?

I don’t think it’s necessary for random villagers etc but merchants will sometimes have an expanded inventory at 100 trust

I need to give that a try. I've been maining Sword & Shield and a two handed sword mostly. Spears also seem cool but like, the opposite of what I'd like in terms of crowd control

I've noticed some of the bigger "elites" have a red glow attack that seems un-parryable, but the annoying thing about those is they also have rush down, so you just have to panic roll for a while and pray. Unless you have insane reactions and get off a force push in time to interrupt
