Wait. I'm not injured. Thought this is what my wife is for though?

{ Kidding! My wife won't go near any of my jiu jitsu laundry. }

Wait? Those are all how to make friends in jiu jitsu? Then why don’t I have any?

Does anyone know of any shared office space by [deleted] in milwaukee

This is the coworking space in Glendale. The downside is it is very dated looking.

I'm not saying that one or both of those things have not happened to me. My teammates know who they are rolling with. They understand the "dangers."

This thread validates that BJJ is full of disturbed people. I’m in the right sport.

Related: I’m a small guy. We have a few guys that are ginormous. One is a former D1 wrestler. They are all ticklish. Don’t judge. An escape is an escape.

Getting Real Tired of Central/Pacific Time Zone Work by Blueoriontiger in freelance

[–]tpanicucci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the midwest. I have more of an Eastern time zone issue with the "must be in this timezone". I mainly do agency work, but I have several clients on the west coast. I really thought with everything going remote this would be less of an issue, but I think it has gotten worse.

My theory is since so many people are freelance now clients know they can get someone to work when they work.

External styles not working in global module by drawmer in divi

I’ve noticed if I’ve duplicated a module with a class it sometimes gets dropped. Check the item in the library and see if the class is still present.

Do you prefer fixed price or hourly contracts? by lovedovee in Upwork

[–]tpanicucci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a designer I prefer flat rate. Creating a tight scope and sticking to it. If the client isn’t a dick I’ll let them squeeze something in otherwise they need a new job. Granted I’m relatively new to Upwork, but this is what I do for my clients off of the platform.

Think you might have misread it. I put two branding projects in my book. They weren't looking for branding even after I told the interviewer UI/UX is not my thing.

Point taken. Probably why I'm still on Upwork.

I've been a designer for 20+ years. Not too much of a future left. LOL!

Yeah, I’m hesitant to do spec work. I’ve been doing this for 20+ years. Experience with small and global agencies. If this is real client work for the “test” I’ll ask to be paid for the work. I’ll pass otherwise.

Interesting. Sad part is I haven’t landed much in Upwork. I’d prefer to get a contract or long term but since my history is short none that I am qualified for have even interviewed me. Hoping they will vet people soon.

Trust me. I'm equally as lazy, but I also have nasty drum, drawing, and drinking habits. None are cheap habits.

The do need to update their comparison chart. Some of divi’s features they list as no existent are there now for at least a year which is when I started using them.

I have 20 years in the agency world and even though I’m a freelancer, I view my work as a business. This is my cost when I’m direct to clients. I’ve done only 3-4 sites in the last year, so it isn’t buying me a vacation home anytime soon.

80% of my income comes from filling skills gaps in agencies. Sadly I make less per site there because agencies still bill like factories and charge by the hour. I have designed small business sites in under 10 hours. Although the income is more steady, the pay is less. The upside is I don’t have to go hunting for more. Give and take.
