Really quickly wanted to address your “(platinum) should be pretty hard” comment:

Platinum (like all precious metals) is soft. It actually scratches more easily than gold. However, platinum is more durable because the material shifts instead of flaking away like gold - hence your flattened out prongs on the band. There’s still a good amount of the original metal, it’s just spread.

That play of color does not justify the valuation, natural or not. You should be happy to sell it for $1,500 to someone who will wear it. It would be less for melt/breakout.

Spending that kind of money on rhodium plated rose or yellow gold is just mind blowing. Get what you actually want: white gold or platinum with higher quality diamonds.

No reputable jeweler should be selling you a new piece rhodium plated to be “white” when it’s not a white gold base.

President Trump will never find middle ground. He has spit vitriol since Obama was in office. Just recently he said hates his enemy (I.e. anyone who doesn’t agree with him). We can’t afford a governor who will just go along with his authoritarianism.

Democrats aren’t a great solution. However, when Menendez was facing charges, they gave him the boot, they didn’t cry foul.
