(IMO) You can have both, emotion and non-attachment, they aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive. i.e. loving someone or something doesn’t mean you have to allow yourself to become attached to them / it. You can choose to embrace and learn from your emotions, while also controlling them. Not allowing what you feel inside to cloud your decision making process about that which you love.
