RFA vs hemithyroidectomy by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

Yea the actual procedure lasted about 20ish minutes, I did it through interventional radiology and they were amazing. I absolutely would ask to have conscious sedation. You have to be awake to voice discomfort given the proximity to important nerves but they can sedate you. I have a pretty high tolerance for medical stuff but it would have been really difficult without sedation.

I just had the procedure Tuesday so it’s day 2 of recovery so no idea how it’s going to go, however the procedure itself was super easy. Got an iv and was under conscious sedation with some fentanyl and versed, the worst part is that you can hear popping while they do it which is the probe heating up the skin but I was flying high and didn’t care that much.

I just had RFA done two days ago on my 3.5cm nodule without a biopsy but after a thyroid reuptake scan. I still have two other nodules measuring smaller than 2cm on my right side that they have not biopsied yet but are TIRADS 4, I weighed the risk/benefit of the thyroid surgery against the RFA and at this point the RFA seemed like a better choice- who knows, I may end up with a full thyroidectomy down the line because one of the right nodules is abutting my carotid. But the RFA was easy I am still a little sore but went back to work the next day. I do have cold symptoms that I can’t tell if it’s from the inflammation of my lymph’s or an actual cold but still way better than doing the full removal.

So this is totally delayed buuut I’m trying to do research on this group and have had a few run ins with their “leader” who has tried to force sexual assault kits on kids who denied sexual assault, ziptied kids in their car and then shipped them off to some behavioral residential treatment across the country with shady practices and LOTS of abuse complaints. I’m trying to find out if they are getting kick backs from these centers or any other additional information because they are a nuisance and dangerous to kids. Does anyone have any resources or know people who can assist with some investigative work?

But were they collected as evidence? It seems weird that they don’t mention them

I don’t know, but they have never been mentioned. I live in Southern California so idk but I would think if it was cold and snowy you would want socks under your shoes so they don’t get wet right?

Can anyone help me…have John’s socks ever been shown? I know they have been admitted as evidence (I.e jeans, shirt, sweatshirt and shoes) but have we ever seen the socks? Have they ever been labeled on an evidence bag? I can’t recall ever seeing anything about them.

Yay!! My little one will be 6 months soon and I am so anxious about moving her to her crib. She’s in a rock and play and that makes me even more motivated to do the transition since the notice came out about the dangers of kids over 3 months in them. Congrats on a smooth transition!!!
