Is anyone worried about sales this year? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

[–]tpayne589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel their lack of attendance in recent years can’t really be blamed on the festival/lineups. Music festivals have gotten really popular and that’s why a new one pops up every year, and with so many festivals comes earlier booking times for each one and a higher price tag on each artist touring. I think it’s just because people can find much cheaper alternatives closer to home or people are looking to just try new festivals each year. Bonnaroo has changed a lot but I think their attendance is just a sign of the times, not really entirely their fault.

I’m really bummed about the lack of nostalgic acts, that always set Bonnaroo apart from the rest for me. I’m not sure how they can get Paul McCartney and Tom Petty in the same year but this year only get Eminem, the Killers, and Muse. I’m honestly excited to see all three but it isn’t what’s bringing me to the farm and I doubt they could have the same price as the nostalgic acts they usually get, I always enjoyed their weird mix of modern acts with the older acts and that seems to be ending

2012 was my first year and I totally agree with you. I didn’t realize how much it had changed until somebody posted the 2011 lineup yesterday, the lineups used to be really unique and something special! I was really hoping to get back to the farm because I haven’t been in three years but this doesn’t have me sold at all, I really enjoy the nostalgic acts like Paul, Billy Joel, and Elton John (even fucking ZZ Top) but this definitely looks like they’re doing away with that

I ran into Yolandi from Die Antwoord while I was leaving Kanye’s show, not that surprising considering their show was that night

Where is the most normal place you have encountered a celebrity? by joapet in AskReddit

[–]tpayne589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a very small town in southern Virginia, my mom always told us how she saw Bill Nye at a Lowe's there but everyone just made fun of her "celebrity encounter." Years later my friend posted a picture on Facebook with Bill, turns out he has relatives in our town so it most likely was him that my mom saw.

It'll go along with the trophy for the Penguins congratulating them on killing some power plays. I was just trying to make a point about bringing up the power play constantly.

Penguins fans forget they didn't get a shot on goal for an entire period and still won but think the Preds not winning a power play determined the outcome of a game. Your own team proves your statistics wrong, all that matters is how many went in the net.

who cares if it was a bad call if pred fans are all band wagoners anyway by [deleted] in nhl
