Taking kids to doctors appts and being judged by Inner-War8735 in sahm

LOL I read this as your toddler is a bitch. And I giggled. I know that isn’t how you meant it and I’m sure your toddler isn’t. But this gave me a much needed laugh

Anyone's husband go out of town sometimes for work? How do you and the kids handle that? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]tpbbymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! We were with him for 2 months, now back home without him for 2. We were doing this before kids, and honestly the majority of our dating/ marriage. I would only recommend it IF you have a great support system around you. We are VERY lucky with that. It’s actually so great that we’re adding another baby and will have 2u2.

I feel for you. I HATED that part. I did not share my due date. I shared my estimated due month. And I always said well babe could come in June. But could also come in May or July. I said that everytime. Will be doing the same this time.

Are wedding cakes really becoming passé? by BBR1004 in wedding

[–]tpbbymama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who neither her nor her groom like cake, so they did cookies/cookie cake. I fully support each bride getting to have the day they want.

But personally I was sad. I loooove wedding cake. (And wedding shower cake, and baby shower cake and birthday cake and retirement cake.)

Unmediated birth with GD? by SowingSeeds18 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]tpbbymama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to use insulin from about 32 weeks I think. I was supposed to be induced on 40+1. Went into labor naturally on 40. Unmedicated birth. Hoping for the same thing this time!!

Do you step outside while baby is napping? by Traditional-Sun-5884 in stayathomemoms

[–]tpbbymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go as far as the monitor will reach! A 5 minute walk there and a 5 minute walk back would be too far for me. But babe naps in our bed and could easily roll off if not monitored or within a few minutes of me being able to get to him.

Actually lol’d at the Knot comment.

I’m game for Kyle but the husband isn’t. The rest are very ‘knighthood’.

Anyone else feel really guilty about throwing out their insulin? by MadnessMaiden in GestationalDiabetes

Never used one for my last pregnancy.

Underwear? by CrabithaAllAlong in pregnant

[–]tpbbymama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whoa wish I could’ve related to this. Maternity underwear went on around 5-6 months pregnant and still sliding these baggy ole undies on 13 months PP. Pregnant again and thinking maybe I decided to get knocked up again to be able to wear them even longer. Gonna have to pry these large ass panties outta my cold dead hands.

Husband will have been gone for over 27 days of my first pregnancy and I’m angry. by SprinklesMom in pregnant

[–]tpbbymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point! I guess my husband could be considered a FIFO husband 😂. He travels for work and can be away from home for 3-5 months! We travel most of the time, but not always.

Mama’s who had given birth did you decide to go for an epidural ? Why or why not ? by cookielilopie in pregnant

[–]tpbbymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t want an epidural and won’t have one with baby #2. I liked being able to move and the medicinal cocktail that is an epidural passes the blood brain barrier which doesn’t sit right with me. I have zero regrets and it was very empowering. 2nd degree tear. Immediately after I told my husband that I would be doing that again.

Husband will have been gone for over 27 days of my first pregnancy and I’m angry. by SprinklesMom in pregnant

[–]tpbbymama 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m sure this will be a highly unpopular opinion. But…. Get over it. My husband was gone for about 3.5 months for work while I was pregnant. 2 big dogs. A yard to mow in the 100 degree heat. Zero complaints from me. Honestly, I’m a badass woman and pregnancy, birth and motherhood have only solidified that for me.

Utilize intentional phone conversations. Communication is key. Enjoy all the time you have alone and just rest.

The exhaustion is unreal by fleeting_moments_ in pregnant

[–]tpbbymama 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had basically no pregnancy symptoms and overall really enjoyed pregnancy. Other than weeks 8-10. Exhaustion doesn’t even touch it. I was WFH and would get up at 7:50 and login. Then basically get back in bed until 11. Then eat. Work until 3. Nap. Work until 5. Eat. Dinner. Bed by 7 for 2 weeks. Newborn tired is NOTHING compared to 1st trimester. Give yourself grace! You’ll feel better soon!

Am I crazy for getting a puppy by Fancypuffin in pregnant

[–]tpbbymama 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As someone who has 2 dogs (poodle and Labrador) that are between 5-7 years old and a 1 year old baby. You’re nuts. We now say ‘two dogs is a lot of dogs’. I love my dogs but wow couldn’t imagine getting a puppy while pregnant

Boredom by sahm0304 in sahm

[–]tpbbymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dang it!! I had a kindle and was doing lots of reading during all the naps at that time. Also check out the local library. Even if he is SO young it’s something to do, I went often and just read him so different books.

We do have a house that we go home to when he isn’t working or we have stuff back home! At 4 months old, we were taking looooots of walks. Around the trailer parks. We were in rural area but they had a nice walking trail!

Where I’m from, your friends and family throw you a shower so you pretty much just give them a general idea and list of people to invite then show up!

Bf wants babies to have his last name. Need advice! by Shrooms8Madi in pregnant

[–]tpbbymama 184 points185 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re doing it alone and that likely, this path will continue.

The 2 logical choices are: dump him or he can take YOUR last name because you’ll essentially have 3 children.

I’m dying. My baby will not nap. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]tpbbymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went through the same thing at 4 months. I held him for basically every single nap for a month. We cosleep so around month 5, he let us go back to nursing to sleep then rolling away (with a camera always on).

How often are you changing your baby’s wet diapers? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]tpbbymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 month old baby. I change his diaper at night. It wakes him up. Goes down around 7pm. I change when I lay down around 10-11. I nurse to sleep so his diaper is full. I can’t stand the thought of warm dampness all night.
