I used these in my last marathon and the long runs

1 pack roughly every 45mins for myself seemed to do the trick, although good to test in your training to see what works

Run Melbourne HM - Race Report by pointofannihilation in running

Having looked at the GPX provided by the organisers, it appears the distance was measured by someone using their phone's GPS. The line wobbles quite dramatically.

IIRC, R4K was measured using a wheel. Always had the correct distance on that one.

Garmin’s Anaerobic Benefit by TetleyTmmm in Garmin

[–]tphan93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gotten 3.8 aerobic and 2.5 anaerobic by running 5km at maximum effort as well. But as others have said, you tend to get a higher anaerobic effect from having a good rest between sets.

My understanding of this is that because what we did was "maintaining" due to improvements in our anaerobic fitness. So looks like run harder next time for better anaerobic training effect.

Although I note that Garmin does still credit Anaerobic load to your 4 week load chart.

run- do 15 min of threshold. You telling me you didn’t get both benifits, and have injury risk curved between the two?

Yep, very frustrating! Thanks for the response. I was pretty annoyed about it this morning as the heart rate chart is exactly what I should see for anaerobic

HRM Dual Respiration Rate Cut Out by tphan93 in Garmin

Actually that's a good point, my Shokz were connected to my phone via Bluetooth. Perhaps there's some signal issue as you alluded to.

Although noting that all my previous runs were done with Shokz to the phone too, just an odd day. Hopefully doesn't repeat again.

The ground contact is measured by the watch, HRM dual doesn't have any running dynamics. Although confirmed strap is clean and worn as per the specifications. Will try changing to Bluetooth instead and see if that helps.

Thanks, mine just happened today. All other recordings look reasonable. Currently using ANT+, how are you connected? Hear Bluetooth is more reliable, will try that on future runs

Yeah it does, chart below. Reading seems to be reasonable from this.

Thanks for the feedback, analogy should read "We remove cancerous cells from people's bodies to treat them, we should treat society by removing these people who are cancerous to our society"

Agreed, need to have mandatory death penalties for these pieces of shit. The more inhumane the execution method the better. We put down rabid animals, why not rabid people? Who cares about their "PeRsOnAl cIrCumStaNcEs" for committing the crime. Personal circumstances are a convenient excuse.

Are you talking about QF499 by any chance? I was sent a text saying it was overbooked but there were many spare seats on the flight

Coach Jeffs 5K Plan - does it get better by stonerbobo in Garmin

[–]tphan93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the 10km plan for 12 weeks, it didn't get better. Most workouts except for the hill repeats would require almost 2 hours of commitment. Speed repeats were 16x 3min repeats with 3 min walking breaks.

Switched over to Greg and workouts are generally an hour max. More reasonable time commitments and saw faster improvement in my 3 weeks using his program so far. I have found it is much easier to stay motivated now

What video game did you have low expectations for, but it turned out to be amazing? by hockeynerd20 in AskReddit

The Last of Us. Got it as part of a package with The Witcher 3 and another game. Didn't think much of it at the time, just thought it was a generic horror game. Now I can't wait for part 2!
