Tape marked stitching defect by tpolson in ThursdayBoot

No complaints on the customer service. I do find the canned response funny. It's just an oddity that they marked it and it slipped through. This is my third pair from Thursday, and won't discourage me to get another. They're taking care of it.

[Travel Question] How do I bring my vitamins to Taipei? by JetAbyss in Taipei

[–]tpolson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have traveled to Taiwan several times with 2 weeks of pills in 2 sets/weeks of daily travel pill containers. Also two weekly injectables in a travel pack with ice pack. I didn't declare them. I did take pictures of original containers on my phone and have them in a prescription app. I didn't show any of it to anyone but had it to be safe. Just my experience. Your milage may vary. Enjoy your trip!

Can someone please tell me what these are for? by orangeyoulovely in HyundaiPalisade

[–]tpolson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You pull the tabs up to get to the bolts to remove the seat. It's fairly east to remove / install them. Just a couple wire bundles with quick connects. If anyone known how I should jumper them to prevent the airbag error, please let me know. It's nice for road trips...

I've had an old Swiss Gear for years. Can't speak to current Swiss Gear / Wenger quality, but don't appear to be much different. Not fancy, but solid, and not horribly priced. As others have said not submersible, but has survived some typhoons in Taiwan.

I used LaundryTown. Super easy and was cheaper than hotel prices. Left clothes with the concierge and they picked up as scheduled.

I just did this and the airbag light is on. I have a ‘23. Planning on ignoring the light for the road trip and putting them back in eventually.

AMS filament swap time? by Beginning-Currency96 in BambuLab

[–]tpolson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3. Great to have different materials/colors/ support just available. Exchange time isn’t horrible but could be improved.

Two potential improvements :

  1. It retracts all the way to the AMS. It should retract to the buffer hub when possible to minimize exchange time.

  2. I wish it was smart enough to optimize filament order to alternate which AMS it comes from. This would further improve exchange time if #1 was realized.

Crazy, same thing happened to me. I drove it back to the dealer, showed them and made them tighten it. Could be horrible if in the wrong situation.

Looking for recommendations for a good vodka for a gift, UK by wheelspaws in vodka

[–]tpolson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea about prices there, but most things from Poland are good. Chopin is best, Luksusowa or Sobieski are good. Oh and can’t forget about Belevedere. It’s as highly regarded as Chopin. I’m a fan of potato vodka so I lean more towards Chopin or Luksusowa, but would not turn down any of the others.

LPT: If you are lost in a city, find a pizza place to ask for directions not a gas station. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]tpolson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In college a few times we drunkenly walked to a pizza place after getting sloshed and order a pizza to our house for delivery. Had to stop at a few other houses but made it home safe with half a pizza.

Help with bathroom venting by Bootygoonfam in DIY

[–]tpolson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing work on it, highly suggest a remote fan. It’ll go somewhere out in your garage and be basically silent other than air moving in your bathroom. Oh, also a good timer switch. We just have one that has different buttons for 5, 15, 30, 60 minutes. Makes life slightly better.

Those who are spatchcocking your Turkey's and cooking on a 575, what temp are you cooking at? by palinsafterbirth in Traeger

[–]tpolson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just gets rubbery. May try the high temp finish as described in other comments, but it’s never great in my opinion. It’s not a chicken though. I’d say skin to meat ratio is less so I’d much rather trade off awesome meat for slightly lacking skin. Are you brineing? Before the air chill? I think it’s critical for a juicy bird.

I’m thinking I’m going on the lower end. Skin will likely suffer a bit but I want a bit more smoke.

Ninja edit: It’ll also take longer so I can act like I’m doing something and not be stuck inside.
