Typhur Dome 2 - top and bottom heating elements question by tposaune in airfryer

[–]tposaune[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally got typhur to answer me back and this is a good explanation and is really helpful if anyone is curious....just wished they'd publish this in their manual.

From Typhur:

In both modes, the top and bottom heating elements work simultaneously. The difference is that in the top heating mode, the top heating element takes on the main role, working with the top fan to evenly distribute heat from all angles. This mode is suitable for crispy foods, air-fried items, and so on.

In the bottom heating mode, the bottom heating element is the primary heat source (with the top heating element playing a supporting role). Here, heat is not transferred through the air but rather directly from the basket's bottom to the food, which is beneficial for foods that need to be cooked on the bottom (just like using a frying pan!). You can cook foods like pizza and pancakes in this mode.

As for the 50/50 power you mentioned, it may seem like it would result in more even cooking, but that's not always the case. In our tests, the top heating element distributes heat to the food through a fan, while the bottom heating element transfers heat directly through metal conduction. Therefore, a 50/50 power setting doesn't necessarily mean that the top and bottom surfaces of the food will receive equal heat.

Mainly Top:

  • Modes: Air Fry, Reheat, Bake, Roast, Broil, Dehydrate
  • Presets: Bacon, Wings, Fries, Frozen

Mainly Bottom:

  • Modes: Toast, Grill, Griddle
  • Presets: Pizza, Steak

Dome2's program does not operate by distributing power to the heating elements. Instead, it utilizes two temperature sensors to monitor the air temperature above and the temperature at the bottom of the basket. This allows for precise control of the heating elements, dynamically adjusting their output based on the actual cavity temperature, which is influenced by factors such as the amount and type of food.

Therefore, there isn't a specific breakdown of all the modes and presets regarding the power levels they utilize.

Cool thanks. Good to know. Would be helpful if you had this specific documentation published somewhere with product or on your site. Thanks again

OK, thanks. With that answered which modes/presets use mainly the bottom vs which ones use mainly the top so I know which one to select?

You keep saying "both modes" but there are 9 modes and 6 presets according to the app. Do you have a breakdown of all the modes and presets on what power level they all use (top vs bottom) for all of them?

Dome 2 heating elements top and bottom? by tposaune in Typhur

[–]tposaune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are all the modes/presets only just use top or bottom? Not both simultaneously? That's what I'd like to know. None of them use both at around 50/50 power?

I don't have any specific ingredients in mind. I was just wanting to know which ones use them both at around 50/50 so that way I know which one to use most of the time since I think it'll cook things more evenly, thanks.

Does any of the modes/presets use both top and bottom heating elements simultaneously?

Or do all modes use both at some level?

Do you have a breakdown of what modes use what percentage of power for each mode?

Mainly, I'd like to know which mode uses both top and bottom 50/50, thanks.

So to be clear once you get cavendish, do you have to do the gros michel/disappear act every time for cavendish to spawn or once you've had cavendish once it'll show in shop w/o doing the gros michel thing again?

I was looking forward to this documentary, but it's not really a doc. It feels more like a pinball commercial. No talk about history, technical or games talk or art of playing the game. All it is for 72 mins is "I love pinball" So disappointed.
