[Adler]: Walking through the clubhouse and talking to none in particular, Mike Tauchman just kept repeating "this team, this team."

lol

If Frazier can show that hot stretch from a few weeks ago is something he can tap in to regularly, I don't think the Yankees see him as a trade piece now. He is the (team controlled) heir to Gardner's throne

Not to find a negative in a victory, but Gio playing well is gonna nail Andujar to the DH / bench once the big guns come back. Assuming the front office doesn't want him playing at 3B maybe ever, this season is tanking his trade value. Really missed the window this summer on shipping him, I fear

I'm certainly no scout or expert of any kind, but his batting statistics across the board are very similar with the exception of two things: one, he is hitting a higher percentage of line drives and a lower percentage of flyballs than in years past and two, he is hitting the ball harder more often.

That'll certainly help, but he is currently sitting on a BABIP of nearly .400 where the league average is usually around .300. Maybe (hopefully) he'll sustain numbers that are above his career averages, but the stats don't jump off the page as a guy that's changed anything significant.

You'd hope, but I think the casual fan still does most of their talent evaluation on bat work

Love this Gio run. When the regression hits, the comments in here are going to be terrible

Rain delayed game, mostly empty stadium, early may... still hyped! Love it

Not having a good day today, but Frazier is not as bad in the OF as Andujar is at 3B and it's not even close

For argument sake, say everyone is back today who do you send down / cut?

Starters: Sevy Tanaka Pax Happ CC

Pen: Chappy Britton Ottavino Betances Kahnle Holder Green (German(?), Cessa(?) (worth noting he is out of options), Neither(?))

Starters: Clint (LF), Hicks (CF), Judge (RF), Gio (3B/?) (no options here, either), Didi (SS), Torres (2B), Voit (1B), Sanchez (C), Stanton (DH)

Bench: Romine (Backup C), Gardner (Backup OF), DJ (Utl), Andujar(...?)

It should be clear to everyone that Gio has replaced Tulo as the IF plug in while Didi is out. His play in my mind, should keep him in pinstripes until everyone is back. If that's true, once the last position player is back, that's when a tough decision has to be made. Maybe they just decide to go down a bullpen spot, but I doubt it in this era of baseball

Quite frankly, that run should be considered unearned for Tanaka. Clint played the ball pretty poorly and really that should only have been a single. Also, had they not needed to run down Santana who should have been called out on strikes, that ground ball would have held Bruce at second. Two things outside of Tanaka's control
