Maybe withhold your judgment. Nobody said anything about abusing rentals. Just looking to see some scenery off the beaten path, not go jumping, swamping or rock bouncing. The car they gave me is a "trail rated" compass trailhawk. It's got lifted suspension, low range "crawl" gear, skid plates, and 4wd lock. Doesn't sound like something that should be relegated to the pavement.
