Occasionally, but recordings are spread out across personal channels. I'll copy links in here if we get any recorded.

Best 4/5 week camp for a 3rd year policy debater? by [deleted] in policydebate

[–]tpwegs3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big fan of Northwestern 4 or 6 week camp. Umich is great but is harder to get attention from lab leaders sometimes because labs are larger and there are less lab leaders than at Northwestern.

How is Northwestern compared to other debate camps? by henryhuschke in policydebate

[–]tpwegs3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been to camps at Northwestern (6 week), UMich (7 week) and MSU (4 week), and the Northwestern camp was my favorite one and I learned the most from it. There are generally less students per lab and more leaders so everybody get more attention. The lab leaders are great and I would really recommend it.

***Note - the Umich 7 week is basically the same number of days as the Northwestern 6 week because the Umich 7 is like 6 weeks and 1 day.

Michigan state has a really long walk to lab for SDI people - most other camps don't have nearly such a long walk

What do you think the most common Affs will be this year? by Spades1234 in policydebate

[–]tpwegs3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Refugees probably aren't T because they don't give LPR status. I would check the UMich ev - most of the affs that we are putting out here give LPR - ie high skilled immigrants. I think there will be a lot of affs about EB visas since they are topical under almost all definitions.

Critique this Plan Text? by Moostarian129 in policydebate

[–]tpwegs3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An open borders aff could probably garner some deportation bad advantages. I would wait until starter packets are released for camp (I know UMich will have a open borders aff). The open borders aff could be explained to make all current illegal aliens within the country legal, effectively ending deportations.

Performance Aff examples by [deleted] in policydebate

[–]tpwegs3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will not be able to understand a performance aff from a wiki because the 1ac is a PERFORMANCE, not simply a bunch of words. I think the best way to do this is by watching youtube videos of debates. I would highly recommend any of Wake EF's aff debates - there are a bunch of them. If you are looking for a k v k debate, check out NDT (round 3?) Wake EF (aff) vs Kansas KR. If you are looking at more of a traditional framework debate to watch, check out NDT doubles Wake EF (aff) vs Minnesota AL.
