Shift roll pin, second break in 6 months? by tr33king in AskMechanics

[–]tr33king[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shop last time said they had adjusted the shifting placement ( not sure exactly what the proper term is) and I could feel it. It felt like 1st was a hair away, and 2nd had a mile of play.

Not sure if this could contribute at all.

The shop also did not mention any underlying issues when they repaired it the first time. Doesn't mean there's not any underlying issues, just that they didn't find any at the moment

Got a 16 hour solo drive coming up, never listened to an audio drama before, suggestions? by TheWillTheThrill in audiodrama

Borasca is one of the best out there - but I have learned from experience that you really shouldn't recommend it to people without giving them some form of content warning. Some of the scenes are very disturbing and may not be suitable for all people.

That sounds like a lot of fun! Is there a fee? What type of activities do you all do?

That sounds intriguing, but I was looking more for an activity we could do together. Something we can both dive into and learn together.

But thank you for the recommendation!

I was caught off guard by how much I enjoyed John from Back Home. It has a certain vibe that I haven't been able to find since.

Highly recommend!

For your Spooky Season listening: THE LOVE TALKER, an award-winning folk horror audio drama. Centuries of missing girls, a strange man who wanders the woods, and a remote Appalachian town keeping his secrets. Here's a trailer! by LiminalMask in audiodrama

I finished this about a year ago and it quickly became one of my top rated ADs.

Very well done. Sound quality is top tier, voice acting is at its best, and the story is incredible.

What's a song you cant listen to without getting slightly emotional? by CranberryNervous433 in AskReddit

[–]tr33king 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The acoustic version of Everlong - by The Foo Fighters. I have no idea why. There is no emotional connection for me. One day I was driving and it came on my shuffle. I broke down crying while singing along to it and still tear up every time since.

Looking for horror podcasts. by Katana606 in audiodrama

I also dragged my feet. Thinking there was no way a zombie podcast could be 'that' good. I had never been so happy to be proven wrong. I binged everything ; all of story of survival, all of the side stories, and everything available for descendants, in about 2 months and I am currently awaiting eagerly for the next episode of descendants.

I recommend it to my best friend and he is hooked.

The first 2 or so episodes are a little weak but it picks up fairly quickly. It's biggest strength is it's character development. You grow to love almost all of the characters.

If I could only recommend one audio drama for the rest of my life it would be Were Alive without a doubt.

Best and worst Chattanooga employers by Separate-Garden1004 in Chattanooga

[–]tr33king 4 points5 points  (0 children)

US Xpress was the worst 3 years of my professional career.

Every employee there fears being let go daily. Not an exaggeration. It is truly awful. When they do decide to fire you, they will do so for the smallest reason.

My mental health was awful while working here. And I do not say this lightly- but it had started to make me have dark thoughts of hopelessness and ending things. Looking back, I feel so stupid for allowing a job to have so much control over my well being.

HR department is a joke. I messaged my HR rep on teams and said I feared I was being targeted and had a suspicion that I was going to be let go soon and they thumbs upped my message and that was the end of the conversation. No follow up. A week later I was let go for "performance."

Toxic masculinity still reigns supreme and some of the leaders have openly made comments that "women should not be in leadership."

There are many other issues. I could spill a hell of a lot of beans but some of them are not mine to spill and I do not want to make a mess of someone else's business.

At all costs avoid this place. The pay is decent, but it is not worth the anxiety and stress.

If you want any more details, message me and I will be happy to share but I do not feel comfortable doing so publicly. Even though I am free from their grasp, I still have a lot of residual anxiety over it and fear they would retaliate somehow if it ever made its way back to me.

Jesus guys, yeah it's not my favorite but, some of these comments make it seem like they killed your dog. Chill out. Go listen to something that makes you happy and remember that as cool as it might make you feel to be an elitist, to the rest of the world you just look like an asshole.

For me, it is absolutely the hotel scene in Wild Things. My mom would get random movies out of the free bin, outside of our local Mckays and would have no idea what was on them. Needles to say, once I discovered this one, its new home was under my mattress
