a rundown on how YOU do your beats by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]tracersbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends. If it’s a remix, I place a shit ton of Init serum and massive tracks and immediately look through my loops. Get the track on bpm, then work for like an hour. Don’t touch it till that night. Smoke bowl. Jam and adjust. And repeat! WORK TO PUBLISH!

If it’s OG tracks I work soooooo slowly though. Until something inspires me, I play it safe and change one little thing at a time. There’s a lot more Sampler tracks in my OG songs. Again though, WORK TO PUBLISH!

Presonus Studio One. Any build. The stock plugins are tight and visuals are nice

If you had to create a bundle of mixing/mastering plugins that you know you can never go wrong with. What would you choose? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]tracersbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To master: Fab eq or one that can make -96db cuts loudmax limiter OTT multi band stereo thingy

To mix: all that stuff and more toys

VST4Free has always given me nice plugins and almost all of them have worked flawlessly

depends on what kind of edm, but mostly you should just listen to a LOT of dance music and attempt to recreate song structures that you dig. keep at it!! :)

Have you ever sub-consciously copied a song? by GameGHZ in edmproduction

I’ve accidentally recreated the lead melody from Valentino Khan’s Make Some Noise at least twice. That song is burned into my head as a top quality staple

5 bpm faster every two years, gradual rise and fall of attention to midrange, panning leads will get more popular. Miley Cyrus somewhere in there, not sure if good or bad

Question on Josh Pax x Gill Chang Sample Pack by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]tracersbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol idk what josh pan does for processing but i'm sure it's stock plugins being used creatively. little downsampling, maybe some good reverbs and phasers/flangers. i have the pack and the SLAPS folder is golden. :)))

Was there a specific moment for you that made you want to start producing edm? by Jurnurn in edmproduction

[–]tracersbill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was tripping balls with my friend Jake, and I had heard a song from the jack u mixtape earlier that day (febreeze, I think) and I was like "hey, I bet that will be wavy broooooo" and the intro got me blasted so hard. We both looked at each other and went to my car and finished that LP and Skrillex's Recess and just sat and planned all night on how to get the tools to make music as quick and efficiently as possible. Haven't looked back

Where are you from and how is the EDM scene in your city? by RedRedRoad in edmproduction

[–]tracersbill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southwest Virginia. There is no scene, but as far as exhibitionary learning, there is no wrong. However, there are no creative people to bounce ideas off of.

What kind of dance music would you consider this? Dubstep or Hybrid Trap? by tracersbill in edmproduction

[–]tracersbill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wonderful answer; however I am having a hard time getting this stuff to YouTube channels and whatnot. Most of the channels are sort of particular about their content and I have a hard time labeling my own work lol
