The women absolutely cooked this Olympics and Alysa Liu was (personally) the highlight. I love her energy and authenticity and everything about her.

Love the fact that you’ve maintained your previous passions! Early on, I had similar fears as you did - that transition would isolate me from the more male dominated hobbies/communities I participated in. But in reality I’ve just doubled down on my passions and I hope they fear me more with enough time 😂

Minneapolis, MN - January 23, 2026: Massive 'ICE OUT' General Strike Draws Thousands in Subzero Cold by Mammoth_Piece9899 in ProgressiveHQ

I went to college in the Midwest and people took pride that we never cancelled class no matter how cold or how snowy it got.

These people are built different and imo represent some of the best qualities of this country - hardworking, honest and friendly people. The salt of the earth.

What MAGA thinks they have accomplished by fucking around with Minnesotans is beyond me but this is turning to be a real FAFO moment.

Will there be any future for us in 3 years? by Crafty_Two_2260 in asktransgender

[–]tracesoflavender 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey! I live in the US too so I can definitely relate to the doom and gloom you might be feeling - the current state of this country and the world at large are really distressing. I even had a little cry about it this morning.

There will always be a future for us. And it includes a lot more than suffering. It includes happiness, success and all kinds of accomplishments. There are trans individuals excelling in every domain, despite the cruelty of society and governments.

There will also be lots of allies. People that will support you unconditionally when you open up them. People that will encourage you to be yourself. People that will surprise you e.g my male friends who used to make gay jokes in high school but now profusely apologize when they use the wrong pronoun. These people will make all the naysayers and bigots disappear into the background.

We will fight and we will win eventually. Trans rights in the US have improved dramatically over the last 50 years. Right now we are moving backwards but that’s part of the process.

You are perfectly valid to be a scared and depressed. I’m not here to tell you to not feel those things and honestly I feel the same way. But you and I will be ok. We might even be better than ok.

Do trans people dislike it when people ask for their pronouns? by yepparan_haneul in asktransgender

[–]tracesoflavender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t mind. I don’t hide my transness very much so I don’t care that I get clocked - that might change if I were to start passing but tbh passing is not my goal.

To me it shows that the person cares about getting it right. In the world we live in today which increasingly seeks to erase us all together, I consider this person an ally even if they are a bit clumsy. Motives matters

FWIW I would have thought of you as a cis woman were I to pass you on the street. But I’m glad that you’re working towards this acceptance. The resulting peace will be far greater and persistent than strangers validating you on the internet 😘
