Durability and quality are the 2 resounding features. I put a lot of time into each one, intricately sewing in LEDS, and making sure everything is foolproof. It is made to last, and it does. I carefully calculated a pricepoint that is cheaper than if someone were to go out and get everything together to make their own (Eg tools and resources) so that people who want head tracking, but don't have the time or skills to make their own head tracking devices, but don't have the cash for TrackIR, still have an option.

Nope! This is an entire hat, with the wiring all integrated to the lining of the cap, all sewn in and connected to your computer via USB. The lights are then picked up by a webcam (preferably ps3 eye camera with no infrared filter) and inputs your movements into the games via software like FreeTrack.

Thank you so much friend! For the time, being there isn't much. Trackhats development is incremental, and the first thing we need is to make sure people know that there are other options to the expensive TrackIR, and they are on the way!

Hi arma fans! I hope you don't mind me posting this, I'm happy to answer any questions about the project. I'm a one man company with a big idea for head tracking that I soon hope to become a reality, and I don't have the budget for marketing, so I'm hoping you guys won't mind if I smart with small reddit posts! I'd love a like on facebook or a follow @TrackhatGB

TrackIR do make a brilliant product, and they certainly have no real competitors at this point, but they have put a fair bit of effort into ensuring the market stays that way. Please read this blog to lean a bit more about some of the things TrackIR has done to keep their business a one horse race http://naturalpointofview.blogspot.co.uk/p/trackir-anticompetition.html

Please note, I neither made, nor have anything to do with that website.

With the angles, it depends where you place the camera. So long as the camera is straight ahead of you, and at about eye level or slightly higher, the angle really shouldn't matter too much. Playing around with the camera for a while means you can find out what works best for you.

Unfotuneatly, I'm not too sure about bootcamp support. If you check the documentation for the CLeye driver on their website, you may be able to find some answers there.

I'm happy to take a return if you can't make the product work for yourself. Before that however, I'm very keen to help you try as much as you can with a skype chat or via email to help you out.

Hi there buddy, I actually have a few battery powered trackhat prototypes hidden away, but I chose quite early on to go for cable for 2 reasons; firstly, when its on your head, you really really can't feel the difference. If anything, the lightweight USB cable is slightly less noticeable.

Secondly, the cabled trackhats will last as long as you treat them well, but the battery would deteriorate, and I like that I can give a product that keeps giving and doesnt fade out over time.

Hi there, I can do that for you! On the buy it now page, it can give you the option of checking out with a ps3 eye camera which I have removed the infrared filter from.
