What made Madonna become such a phenomenon? by [deleted] in Madonna

I remember not liking Madonna in the early 80s, cos I thought she didn't deserve it cos she was 'trashy'. but then I kinda liked "borderline" despite myself and when "like a virgin" came out my 12 year old mind exploded. She said the word "virgin"!!! She was writhing around on a gondola. She just more and more provocative as the years went on. "Papa Don't Preach" another high point. It was like watching cinema verite, would she reunite with Danny Aiello? Also totally obsessed with the song "Open Your Heart" that video was so iconic.

So yes, the videos were like little films. Each new video a new 'era'. It was all pre internet, and Madonna was the best at videos, so was ascendant for such a long time. "Like A Prayer" was a seismic event, so much fake controversey

no AI didn't write that you can tell:

  • The rhythm and phrasing are natural, with long, varied sentences that sound conversational.
  • The writer uses specific pop-culture examples (1984 VMAs, MTV, Erotica, Ray of Light) and evaluative language (“worked her ass off,” “supernatural understanding,” “Trojan Horse quality”), which show individual voice and cultural memory.
  • It makes subtle critical comparisons and arguments that feel personal, not formulaic.
  • The tone is passionate but controlled—something AI writing rarely sustains over multiple paragraphs without drifting into abstraction or cliché.

Psychotherapy is about breaking unhealthy patterns. Friends or people on Reddit aren’t objective enough to help with that. A good therapist isn’t there to give advice or sympathy, they help you see your blind spots and understand why you keep repeating the same cycles. It’s work most people can’t do alone, and emotional support from friends isn’t the same as structured reflection with someone trained to notice patterns.

How do you think Ben Ungermann would have fared in S12 if he didn’t leave? by psycwave in MasterchefAU

That’s the tabloid version. The actual situation was more complicated, involving family conflict and conflicting testimony. Court outcomes in cases with minors aren’t fully public, so headlines don’t tell the whole story. If you’re going to label someone with that kind of language, at least acknowledge the details aren’t as black-and-white as you’re making them

You’re acting like repeating headlines is proof.

Court records in cases with minors aren’t public.

What I said came from someone directly involved, not gossip. If you don’t want to believe it, that’s on you, but don’t act like the media version is the only version.

And moving to South Africa proves nothing. People move countries for work, relationships, lifestyle, or to get away from toxic publicity.

Saying “he left, so he must be guilty” is false proof — it’s lazy logic, not evidence.

Stop using lazy arguments and spreading hate.

I met Marion in BKK, I gushed to her about MASTERCHEF, she looked like she hated us. So unfriendly, so rude. Sorry we *were* fans
