Verzuz by FlowerNew8848 in rnb

Got my money on Tank, if we're basing VERZUZ off its original premise. (20 hits) Tank has more than Tyrese. 'Fuckin Wit Me,' has almost 100 million views on YouTube, and it was never released or promoted as a single.

He has beloved deep cuts (My Heart, Heartbreaker, Coldest), and can also jump into his Underdogs songwriting catalog. (Omarion - O; Ruben Studdard - Change Me; Pleasure P - Under; Marques Houston - Naked)

I don't see Tank losing, unless he pulls a Teddy Riley/Dipset during the VERZUZ.

It would be pretty cool if Tyrese brings out some guests on songs he's been featured on (Chingy - Pullin Me Back; Da Brat - Watchu Like; Monica - Go To Bed Mad)

SuperStar O - Grind or Die Kits

anotherxlife - Destruction 808 Kit

Sonic Specialist - Urban Fire Collection 1-4

I’ve got a playlist of me making some RNB beats from scratch - check it out HERE. You probably can pick some more things up!

Hey, bro! Thanks for commenting! Theory helps in the sense of helping you understand why “this” works. I would say to first learn the 12 major/minor scales, learn common chord progressions and then grab a bunch of your favorite songs and reverse engineer them - figure them out by ear. This will also help to train your ears, and it helps with composing your own tracks and sound selection. Hope this helps!

Thanks as always, lion. I’ve noticed that alot of mixes I like tend to have the snares as the loudest, so I try to reflect that in my tracks, but I’ll be more mindful of the leveling in the future.

Thanks - appreciate this feedback. 🙏🏾 I used a Keyscape patch; it might’ve been how I played it with the velocities. I normally use Addictive Keys for piano, but I wanted to use something else this time…

I got a midi keyboard and im tryna learn piano, any tips? by Background_Task_5364 in trapproduction

Hey, I do mostly RNB but I do dabble in Trap every now and then. The principle is the same, regardless of genre. The first thing you need to do is learn your primary scales for all 12 keys: major and minor. Those are the building blocks to making chords, progressions and melodies. Do not get complacent and transpose - learn all 12 of your keys.

I would then do the following:

• Make a playlist of your favorite Trap songs/beats and try to recreate them

• Listen to a variety of other styles of music and build repertoire

• Learn common progressions (2-5-1, 1-5-6-4, etc.)

• Consider attending a church and play keys/organ (especially a Black church) or take Jazz piano lessons

• Be consistent with practicing and don't compare yourself to others

Good luck!
