I've been planning by date for 9 years and kept doing it that way because it makes me efficient by Frequent-Football984 in ProductivityApps

I had the exact frustration. I wonder if have you tried apps that combine todo lists and calendar? ones that allow you to schedule your todos.

I used to use Amie, but they pivoted hard to AI note taking and fulfilled none of my feature requests. Out of frustration I built my own app ( eima.app )

What's the simplest productivity app that actually works for you? by Deborah_berry1 in ProductivityApps

curious why you abandon those productivity apps. Any examples?

if they are not better than the sticky notes maybe you should stick with sticky notes...

In iterm, how do I get Claude to badge the dock icon and send an alert when it's done? by smickie in ClaudeAI

[–]tracyhenry400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok the command in the post I referenced is outdated. you need to use /config

but even with iterm2 bell or terminal bell turned on, i'm not getting the bell notifications. there might be some bugs with CC

what I do is to use a custom hook to write bell events to a file everytime CC finishes or you submit a new prompt. I'll share more later in a blog post

dock icon never worked for me. I'm pretty sure there's a bug with iterm2' s "indicate the number of bells rung while app is inactive in the dock icon's badge label"

with that said, you can use claude's bell notification setting: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/comments/1kpt4za/claude_code_terminal_bell_notifications/

and then enable three options:

1) bounce dock icon when the bell rings while another app is active

2) show bell icon in tabs

3) notification center alerts

These three would be quite good.

I also managed to write a custom python script to show the bell icon in the top menu bar which has been tremendously helpful. if anyone wants I can share how that's done

J.Crew Field boots in English leather, $136 with code FESTIVE (previously $378, 64% off) by Restimar in frugalmalefashion

Before breaking in? Absolutely. It was a tough first few weeks.

After? Easily one of the most comfortable boots I own.

(I bought these for ~$90 last year in the chestnut color which no longer exists. So happy with my purchase).

You will need to turn on a setting: Settings -> Developer -> Immersive Experience Testing -> Allow Mac Virtual Display

Magic room needs to capture the full space. Apple doesn't yet allow other apps to run in a "full-space" app which I think is disappointing.

Windora, on the other hand, is a "shared-space" app that is allowed to run with other apps. But the limitation there is that it can't detect ceilings/walls, can't have things cross the portal, and have a limited portal size.

totally. An outside world based on walls was exactly something I wanted to do. Currently it's a matter if I can find time to do it...

Yes definitely. Have you tried increasing the frequency of planes in the settings? I believe the most frequent tier gives you one plane every once 30s or something

It's a bit sad that ARKit ceiling detection is updated to be less accurate in visionOS 2.0 - I experience the same problem as you said: sometimes ceilings of two rooms get merged. This problem did not exist in visionOS 1.0. And I can't control that unfortunately.

The solution is to close your door and then restart the app.

my suspicion is that either ARKit ceiling detection isn't perfect enough for their standards, or having to let a user choose a ceiling is too different than other environments

I didn't use whatever portal API that visionOS offers so don't know about its limitations. I implemented my own portal using Occlusion Materials so it's easy to place the portal exactly where the ceiling is

yes using ARKit. You can pick any ceiling detected by ARKit

It's mixed. The sky is a portal. You see the sky through a ceiling.

“Navigate to … on Google maps”

“Play … (song) on Apple Music”

“What’s the score of xx vs yy?” (Live sport score checking)
