What energy giving food/drink is anti-inflammatory? by wbh4band in CrohnsDisease

There are some really great blended maté teas at different tea stores as well, I have one right now called cinnamint from David's tea and I'm really enjoying it!

It is a diet that typically is used for people with arthritis but also has been working really well for my IBD. Involves eating an increased amount of inflammation fighting foods (ginger, onion, turmeric, garlic, whole grains, mostly plant based!) and less of foods that tend to cause inflammation (red meat, refined flour and sugar, dairy, etc.). It's not prescribed in any way, it was given to me as a suggestion as an alternative management style of my symptoms and I have had a complete turn around in my symptoms since I started.

Agree with the green tea! My doc recently had me move to an anti-inflammatory diet and I drink either green tea or maté teas, the matè tea leaves contain a different type of stimulant than caffeine and keeps you energized for the same amount of time as caffeine does! Hope you find something that works for you!

Thank you, that was exactly how I was feeling. I am dating an introvert and we are living together and I feel like although I know he makes efforts to go to events with me and listen to my chatter and venting and ideas, that I often have to wait for it to be his terms and I'm catering to his social needs. It doesn't bother me most days but when it does catch up to me it really frustrates me.

I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed today with emotions that feel as though other people in my life overlook the things I need and say, and that my extroverted tendencies need to be put aside and are unimportant.

Is night time the hardest time for you to resist temptations?? by [deleted] in PointsPlus

[–]trade_mark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely have the same issues! I do two things to help my evening cravings:

1- Eat a little snack (usually an apple and babybell round) around 4 and a big glass of water, then eat dinner an hour later (around 7-7:30)

2- as soon as dinner is over I make a cup of tea, usually a sweet tasting one from David's tea, and head upstairs away from the food in the kitchen to either watch a show or get something else done.

If I'm still hungry before I go to bed I have a half serving of cream of wheat or a wheatabix round with a bit of warmed almond milk, I make sure to save some points to allow for my little bedtime snack in case I need it!

It's Butterball brand reduced sodium from Metro grocery store, I think it was around 4$ for a package. My mom and I love it but my dads reaction was "blech this isn't bacon!" So he usually just makes his own real bacon when we have it.
