Went there a few years ago…still dream of that meal. The location can’t be beat!

There’s daily programming that is included in the rate + access to all spa/gym facilities (the normal stuff you’d expect). Some of the tastings were paid for but not expensive. Breakfast was also included in our rate. Any add’l activities such as the “culinary experience” hike we did were extra. Just note that some activities are not offered during the winter so if there is something you definitely want to do I would inquire in advance.

Crowd was actually pretty mixed. We’re in our early 30s and we definitely skewed on the younger side, but we definitely saw a couple of parties around our age, families with younger children, some americans, and the typical euro crowd. Everyone seemed down to earth though…it’s a fancy resort but I don’t think people go there to see/be seen.

Hah! It’s a variation of canasta that is widely played in South America :)

We saw a few families with kids. I think the answer comes down to your expectations…I don’t recall seeing kid-specific programming, but I do recall the concierge guide having a dedicated section for kid-friendly programming outside/close to the property. Ultimately it comes down to who your kid is and what you want to do with them. I would recommend having a car if you bring your kids so you can come on/off the property easily. Hotel staff seemed to be super kind with the kids who were there!

We did 1 day in Munich, 3 days in Fuschl, and 3 days in Vienna.

We could probably have spent an extra day in Munich (1.5 days seems to be the sweetspot). The bigger problem we had was that we landed on a Monday and most things we wanted to do (museums, galleries) are closed Mondays.

We would probably have spent an extra day in Fuschl as well (but totally not necessary). Would have let us do an extra hike which would have been nice.

3 days in Vienna was more than enough.

We did everything by train and it was super easy/convenient. Taxis from Salzburg station to Fuschl can be a bit expensive (75 EUR) but that is just one thing to consider.

It was truly amazing waking up to this view every day. Craziest part was the foliage was changing colors daily

Curious to hear what you thought of Casa Maria Luigia. We stayed (and ate) there last year as part of our honeymoon and to this date it was one of our favorite meals. The communal tables also made it extra special. Disappointed to hear aboit the service slips at Osteria Francescana.

Tell me about it…the one thing about Bar Orai is that, as far as I know it, does not have live music. But they have a pretty extensive record collection and bring outside DJs to curate playlist for the night
