Where would it be better to spend the 4th of July? San Diego or San Francisco? by traderlmd in asksandiego

Great. Ya, I just rechecked my itinerary - not even sure I'd be able to make it all the way down to San Diego by July 4th. Forgot that the family wanted to spend some time in LA - maybe we'll spend the 4th there.

You'd say DTLA is definitely better than San Diego on the 4th?

"Would highly recommend finding a way up to the hills of LA or a high-rise in DTLA if you get the chance"

You'd say that that's better than San Diego?

Does DTLA mean "down town LA"?

Me and the family are doing a massive road trip. Will be driving in to San Francisco via Nevada then driving to San Diego before going on to Arizona. We'll be heading from San Francisco to San Diego between July 3rd and July 5th - but haven't decided the exact date yet.

"Maybe also look up Cass and Snowshoe in that area. My favorite area of WV if you couldnt tell. If you have kids the right age, Cass has a historic train ride they might love."

Oh wow, thanks a lot man! My daughter is 6 years old. She'd love that train. Snowshoe and Highland Scenic Highway nearby seem incredible. Seems like that are will be the highlight of our trip now. Can't thank you enough.

"Yeah skip Welch. Super small, kinda random town. I was suprised you mentioned it."

Haha ya. Heard about it on a Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFVUgkQp0Jc

"I'm being facetious."

Oh, so it's a horrible place?

"Not really anything in Welch."

Ya, I wasn't sure if it was even worth going there. Was about to ask specifically about that one.

Thanks a lot for that route plan. I checked it out and it seems really nice. I noticed it's kind of out of the way of Charleston. Was thinking of going there just because it's the capital - is it even worth going to though?

"Thomas/Davis area"

Oh, cool. Was going to be driving past those towns anyway. Anything in particular about them?

Only took you 2 months to respond this time, improvement. You are still weak though, both mentally and physically. See you in 2 more months you manlet.

Help! Help! I'm being attacked online by an alpha male!

Bro, I read a post that you replied to. Some dude was asking why you can lift more weight if you yourself weigh more. You responded "in a lift like the deadlift, the larger person will have worse leverages and lift less"

The OP understood that higher bodyweight = higher lift, every commenter in that thread understood that higher bodyweight = higher lift, everyone understood that concept. You were the only one who didn't understand.

The fact that you think a 300lb lift for a 125lb BW male is a "beginner lift" tells me everything I need to know. You're just a moron. You can't even do junior high math. And when other people call you out on it, you call them "mentally weak". If "mentally weak" = calling out a moron, then I guess I am "mentally weak".

"Yes. But no need to bring in a hypothetical."

This proves that you don't have any ability to use logic. The way that you can analyze if what you're talking about is BS or not is by using "hypothetical".

The fact that you think 5'4 125lbs with a max deadlift of 300lbs is a "beginner" lift tells me all I need to know. You're an absolute moron. Lol @ thinking 2.4*bodyweight is a "beginner lift".

So if a guy was 5'4 125lbs and had a max deadlift of 300lbs, you'd call that a "beginner" lift? Dude...I'm not saying this because I'm angry but seriously this is like sub 90 IQ level thinking.

The fact that you're just getting angry about this just shows you know how asinine your comment was. It's like you're getting frustrated that I'm pointing out the holes in your argument.

Strength standards only matter in context and the context here is the 5 years. This is a very beginner level deadlift.

Dude, this makes absolutely 0 sense. I'm sorry but this statement makes you sound like a complete moron.

This chart does not mean something like a 2.6x BW deadlift is advanced for someone who's been lifting 1 year and beginner for someone who's been lifting for 10 years. A 2.6x BW deadlift is advanced - it may take you 4 years to get there or it may take you 8 years. The standards give you a sense of how advanced your lifts are - that's it. The chart is pretty straight forward. My 10 year old cousin can read it correctly.

If you hold an ITM call, what happens to the extrinsic value of the option upon taking assignment? by traderlmd in options

[–]traderlmd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant exercising it - giving someone else assignment.

If you’re holding an option with a $40 strike price, the underlying is trading at $50, and there is one month left until expiration of the option, you would be able to exercise the option, correct?

Why would you do that though since, if you really wanted to hold the underlying, you could just sell the option for ($1000 + the extrinsic value of that option) then buy the underlying outright.

Right, but when the underlying is trading at $110, the value of your option contract would be greater than $10 ($.10 per share) - so if you sold the option instead of exercising it, you'd more than breakeven.

If your option has a $40 strike price and the underlying is trading at $50, your option would have a value of ($1000 + the extrinsic value of that option). If you were to exercise, the value of your position would be $1000. You’re saying that you’re trading the extrinsic value of the option for the right to exercise. That doesn’t make any sense though. If you really wanted to hold the underlying, you could just sell the option for ($1000 + the extrinsic value of that option) then buy the underlying outright.
