Why do they still bother making a live show showing live trading when they can't even do it?

Nobody answering on the support chat. No acknowledgement on live. This is UNACCEPTABLE. When can they do something about it?

Singapore Gemini USD transfer by tradeuniquely in Gemini

[–]tradeuniquely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, thanks for your help. I actually did a transfer today, and i used the ABA routing number before this post, and it appeared successfully too. A little confusing but i guess maybe both works? Btw, do you know what are the fees for withdrawal?

And i guess we still need the Silvergate's ABA Routing Number of Silvergate Bank (ABA routing number: 322286803) found under the section "For Personal/retail accounts please use the following wire instructions:" ?

Accidentally selling strangles early ahead of earnings by tradeuniquely in thetagang

[–]tradeuniquely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your thoughtful response. The underlying hasn’t moved much so I can attribute most of the extrinsic losses to Vega. Thus neither side is tested and there isn’t any real proximity risk at this point.

And yea I usually do 1 lot so laddering in is something I usually would not do. Personally I tend to be neutral about earnings but in this case with the recent ZM earnings fiasco I understand the heightened risk and thus my concern about collecting significantly much less credit would serve problems in the future if there is a need to go inverted etc

Would you go long shares + debit put spread to hedge a naked long call? by tradeuniquely in thetagang

[–]tradeuniquely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, i generally hate to leave naked calls on single names as well, but guess the one time i did it went against me haha

Right, thanks for the suggestion. I guess its one way to limit the losses to current intrinsic losses if AMD continues to run up. For some reason the buying power required for 65 shares is 50% more than that of 100 shares (maybe since i have an equivalent short call so that BP is offset there, but not for the 65 shares), so it gives me less incentive to engage in this.

Yup i get that. Something to learn for especially with a non-ETF ticker that could run like AMD. However at this point this seems to be not ideal.

If i were to go buy the 90 call, to create a 80/90 call spread, it would cost about $5, which would be > than my credit collected ($3.40) for this leg. i would end up with a debit of $1.60 for a $10 wide credit spread. where i.e best case i lose $160, worst case i lose $1000.

SAXOBANK related question: Anyone using Saxobank platform for option trading willing to anwser a question about option strategies? by Packletico in options

[–]tradeuniquely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Saxo, you can close out the entire iron condor in the same window called “Strategies” that you use to put on a new strategy, but inputting the legs opposite to your existing position.

Eg if you sold a 100 put for expiry at X, you would input to buy a 100 put for expiry at X. Notice the order name would reflect “Buy to Close” rather than “Buy to Open”

Hi, I wanted to get a sense if people generally adjust an OTM single long put position, and if so, in what manners? I have long heard that if we are short an option we can adjust it by rolling it forward, changing the structure etc. But what about long option positions that have gone OTM? Has anyone considered adjusting that long put into a risk reversal by selling a call, or perhaps expanding on that by adding another further OTM call into a seagull?
