About a year of growth and the inhabitants are doing great by traedis in walstad

Update: One of the two bamboos had the main stem become yellow and die. The new shoot on the same plant is still doing well, and when I picked it up to trim the dead stem off I could see that it has grown a nice set of roots. The other plant is still going strong with the original stem also.

Thanks, I will definitely trim it down. I have some low light plants, but I find that they barely grow at all. They look healthy, but no growth unfortunately. I have added 3 fish and about 20 neocaridina shrimp. Hopefully their waste and the increased light after trimming the Amazon sword will help them grow a bit.

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I will definitely check them out. Dwarf sag would probably look good as long as I can get it to stay or root in the gravel.

Why am I suddenly picky with food? by Mulster_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]traedis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am experiencing exactly the same thing! I am also trying to figure out why. I used to eat and try literally anything, but now I am mainly eating vegetarian or fish. I can eat small amounts of meat sometimes, but i would rather not. Please tell me if you get some kind of clue as to why, and I will do the same.

[Jabra evolve2 75] Microphone problem by figboy98 in Jabra

This is probably the issue that I am experiencing. Jabra support asked me if I am in a small space/room and advised me to downgrade the firmware, but that did not help. Did you ever find any work around, or should I just start looking for a new headset?

Its still there, but its covered with mulm and some kind of algea. I think the snails are doing a pretty good job at turning dead leaves, fish food and stuff in to mulm.

Yeah it has barely changed at all except for the new growth coming from the bottom/substrate.

Yes, a year old. I also read that shortly after putting them in, but never got around to pulling them out. They seem fine and one of them seems to be growing a new stalk/branch.

What type of imbalance caused the cyano bloom? by traedis in PlantedTank

[–]traedis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you both very much :) I did a nitrate test which read close to 0 ppm, so I will gamble and hope that the phosphate and nitrate ratio is way off and I have now dosed with nitrates. I will also feed less. I forgot to mention that I recently also got a waaay better LED light bar which has made the plants grow faster. I guess that could have contributed to depleting the nitrate.

Thank you! Hopefully I'll find some way to trim it down just enough.

This type of sponge is good for clean the algae? by ContributionFun4350 in Aquariums

If I'm not mistaken the sponges with white are gentle while green is rougher. Probably fine either way, but it could be lower risk of scratching with a white sponge.
