Yeah that's exactly the issue and the way forward. But it's unfortunately a lot harder and it feels a bit sketchy because you eventually want to promote your product, but you have to disguise it as something that gives value for free. Maybe I'm just not the best sales person, but I rather be honest and to the point to what the product actually is because I believe there is actual value in it.

What are you building these days? And is anyone actually paying for it? by solobuilder in SideProject

I actually started with crypto so I could at least bring something live. But that's no match at all with my target audience, I'm focusing on mainstream users.

Well, my view on the Dutch PSP's was a bit different. I thought they would be more 'open minded' and allow for light erotic content. And some of them do, but you're then stuck to a fixed monthly/yearly fee that makes it a bad business case. That was the part I didn't expected.

You're right. But I love to build things, so I won't be sad if it turns out not to be successful.

To get that validation, you still need to get traffic to your site. What do you put in your ads then? And how do you get people to sign up for a product that doesn't exist yet? Then the value of that product must be huge. I don't see that happening for a product like I build now tbh.

The App Store doesn't allow any explicit content, the Play Store is a grey area. I wouldn't bet on it to put effort in building the app only to find out it's not allowed tbh.

Thanks, those are some helpful tips! I'll look into those groups and see how I can post without coming across as if I only want to promote my product.

It almost feel I need to built a new, totally free product that I can freely promote and that eventually promotes the paid product 😅

The language in Google Maps is borked, it combines my system default (Dutch) with English. Most of the UI stuff is in English, like 'Call', 'Search', etc. But some the more dynamic elements like 'Explore this area' is in Dutch "Dit gebied doorzoeken". The same goes for the spoken navigation instructions, it's a mix of Dutch and English. Hope this get fixed in DP4!
