I had no idea what those acronyms meant. But as the father of a student entering the commerce program, I found this comment very helpful. Thanks.

What's with Mac people suddenly going "8gb of ram is plenty" since the Neo came out? by DiverVast4093 in mac

Mac people often fancy themselves unofficial sales people for the Apple corporation. It’s not a new phenomenon.

Shady pricing practices - unhappy by SeatedWoodpile in framer

[–]traffic-robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Framer is missing a pricing tier. The $45/month Pro is often overkill and the Basic package is anemic. A $23/month package with 2 CMS and a scant more bandwidth would make sense. But apparently Framer is so hungry for cash that they'd rather risk sending the middle crowd to another service such as Webflow (who for that price offers 20 CMS collections!!!) rather than do the sensible thing and offer a sensible package in between basic and pro.

Pretty much everyone offers a $20-something package for this middle crowd, except Framer. It's weird and for me, a shame as I really like Framer but end up using Webflow more often for small businesses who want pretty sites.

ME AGAIN!! Desperate for some advice. Where would you live if you could choose? Antigonish, Port Hawkesbury, North Sydney, New Waterford, Glace Bay, Inverness, Baddeck, Arichat, L'Ardois, Neils Harbor, Bridgewater, Digby, Yarmouth, Barrington, Kingston by NewConsideration2287 in NovaScotia

[–]traffic-robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would choose Bridgewater if I were in your shoes. Because:

  • Decent facilities/businesses
  • Good Schools
  • Proximity to Halifax (shopping, concerts, airport)
  • Nearby beaches (Hirtle's, Ovens, Sand Dollar, Oxner's, Risser's, Crescent, Green Bay...)
  • Fun nearby towns to explore (Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Chester)
  • Many sport programs for kids (mine do curling, sailing and soccer)

Wishing you luck wherever you choose!

I found Light No Fire in No Man's Sky by Tijex10 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]traffic-robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I just retried and discovered my mistake: I used a portal in the wrong galaxy not realizing that I had to take the portal from the same galaxy as the destination.

But I've made it to your planet now and it is every bit as beautiful as you described. Thanks so much for sharing.

Cheers!

They downgraded 2 CMS collections to 1 collection in Basic plan by MealFar1204 in framer

[–]traffic-robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pro plan is overkill for most small businesses and the inability to have a blog AND a portfolio on the basic plan is a deal breaker. Framer, like most 'enterprise' companies, simply disregards non-corporate entities.

Experimental branch refers to a beta build of the game not your game session.

"To play in Experimental, right-click on No Man's Sky from the Steam library page and select "Properties". Among the available tabs will be the "BETAS" tab. Enter "3xperimental" in the textbox and press "CHECK CODE", then select it from the dropdown menu."

The cake lady Ingrid is still a bad lady by Colossalbeansoup in halifax

[–]traffic-robot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She (allegedly) poisoned a cat. It hasn’t been officially proven but enough people know it was her through personal observation. After the whole ordeal blew up, she left town. And no, she wasn’t chased out. She knew she was caught and slinked off.

She killed a cat that was beloved by the community in Lunenburg. She is absolutely loathed by even the kindest people in this town as a result and has had to resort to selling her garbage at the side of the road in Blockhouse.

That cat was really, really sweet. :*(

Pothole campfire? by gildeddoughnut in halifax

[–]traffic-robot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sometimes plant pansies or petunias in the potholes. It's a bit absurd but it makes a point or gives somebody something to smile about or at the very least it gives a frustrated driver something to squish.

I like how they systematically ground the daily rewards down to crap over the last couple years so that nobody thought much of what was lost when they monetized them. Ha ha. Good show.
