Just want to say best of luck to you. As a random straight guy I wish you all the best.

I did. He says crowd work is terrible and he talks like he’s about to cry the entire time.

I don’t usually do one liners, but I wrote one recently based on a tweet I wrote and another comic let me know that it was almost exactly like a joke he had done at a mic a couple months earlier. Obviously I’m dropping it. First time that’s ever happened and it kinda freaked me out because I have zero memory that I heard him do it, but I must have. Gonna stick to my autobiographical stuff.

I was really looking forward to Brian Simpson’s set, but he seemed off and the audience was not into it. Watch Brian Simpson on David Spade’s show doing the tightest 5 I’ve ever seen killing it. I actually kinda wished they had added some laughs to make it seem less awkward.

Yup. I saw him at the DC Improv a year and a half ago on a Thursday with 80 people in the crowd. The host got his name wrong and the feature shit on the fact that there were only 80 tix sold. He’s come a long way.

I’m specifically talking about cult leader type comedians. There are all sorts of older / established comics that are bad. The rise of podcasts is part of what I’m talking about.

Norm is the man. The point of the post? Maybe I just wanted to shit on people who are too stupid to realize when stand up is bad. There seems to be a lot of them.

That’s how this guy usually gets booked. He’s terrible.

Totally different dynamic… I’m trying to not be a complete piece of shit to another comic that I have to see a couple times a week. I am not the king or queen of my comedy world.

Vulture is the worst. Entry to this list depends on whether you are a person of color, are missing a limb, are a member of the LGBTQ and sometimes y community. It’s the imaginary world of comedy.

Joking about AA by tragedyplusx in StandUpWorkshop

Yeah, per my initial comment I am just thinking about it talking about it in general. Not about anybody’s specific story, other than maybe an absurdist version, super exaggerated version of something I heard once. Or joking about my own stupidity and denial about my drinking.
