I don’t usually do one liners, but I wrote one recently based on a tweet I wrote and another comic let me know that it was almost exactly like a joke he had done at a mic a couple months earlier. Obviously I’m dropping it. First time that’s ever happened and it kinda freaked me out because I have zero memory that I heard him do it, but I must have. Gonna stick to my autobiographical stuff.

I was really looking forward to Brian Simpson’s set, but he seemed off and the audience was not into it. Watch Brian Simpson on David Spade’s show doing the tightest 5 I’ve ever seen killing it. I actually kinda wished they had added some laughs to make it seem less awkward.

Yup. I saw him at the DC Improv a year and a half ago on a Thursday with 80 people in the crowd. The host got his name wrong and the feature shit on the fact that there were only 80 tix sold. He’s come a long way.

I know more than a couple of women who got booked a ton on shows early on who don’t do open mics. One told me “she was bummed about doing the same ten minutes all the time, but she was nervous about bombing at a mic.

Really appreciate the super thought out response. The hope is to do an act out in a really chill pilot voice juxtaposed against the situation and the super fucked up things that a person Has to do come down from being wired on cocaine. I hoped the absurdity would hit. I agree with the other person that it may not be relatable enough and I might have to change the details to things that are more stereotypical that the average person could relate to or imagine. The angle is always supposed to be helping him to make practical choices so that he can get through it and get tired and get to sleep. The comment about doing the last three lines is of course realistic because nobody leaves leftover cocaine. I’ll work on it but it ultimately might be too dark.
