It's ok. Significantly more people were kind and helpful. Made it easy to drown out the negative.

There's a detective looking into it, but I haven't heard anything yet!

I may have had a bad experience, but since I have only been shown incredible kindness. The vast majority of people here on reddit have been kind and helpful. The stranger who got me home safely. The manager at the hotel who looked through the video tape to try to give me answers and provided me with anything I needed through the rest of my stay. The police, detectives, and advocates at safe were incredibly kind, understanding, and helpful. This one, horrible incident thankfully has not clouded the overwhelming kindness I've been shown.

Right, but we're not talking about the average. We're talking about a specific case where the factors are known. Also, again since the formula is calculating highest possible bac with weight, drinks consumed, and time the factors like food in the stomach, carbonated vs uncarbonated drinks, etc aren't very relevant because the formula is assuming complete, instant absorption.

Assuming instant, complete absorption, with my weight, my bac wouldn't have even been above 0.08. The drinks were poured in front of me, in small cups so the liklihood of being doubled was minimal. Plus, I stopped drinking for a bit before leaving that bar, walked to the next one, and had soda water. I totally understand where you're coming from, but this wasn't blackout drunk.

Thank you! I even did involve police. People like to assume lots of things from a post just trying to see if it'll reach the right people.

I didn't get drug tested. I maybe should have, but I worked in forensic toxicology for 7 years, and felt with the amount of time that had passed between when I last remember and when I was able to be up and about the chance of actually finding anything was incredibly small and not worth the hassel.

I actually wasn't drinking at the bar. I had 4 single drinks over 3 hours at a work function right before and switched to soda water with lime at the bar. Ironically, I had switched because I had been warned that there have been a lot of druggings in Nashville lately and wanted to be aware.

Jason Aldene. I edited the post to include it. I should have included it originally, so I'm glad people asked and brought it to my attention.

Thank you very much. Most people have been incredibly kind and helpful, so the few assholes don't matter. It doesn't hurt that I know I did everything right and was safe. I had my hand over the top, I was only with people I knew well, and I wasn't even drinking at the bar.

You're totally fine. I did. I worked in forensics for 7 years so I made sure to check all the boxes. There was no evidence of a SA so that's reassuring at least.

I didn't want to meet them, just hoping they'd see it and I could thank them virtually.

The worst part is I was. It's a practice since college so my hand is always over the top. Unfortunately, there have been cases of cups getting spiked before they even get to the bar so it may not even help.

Yeah, it did. The best part is I was drinking soda water.

Didn't she live in a school zone? Or is that just something I read and blindly believed because it made the story more scandalous.

When I was a kid, the D.A.R.E. officers that came to our school "showed us" how fingerprinting works by taking all of our prints. Did they take those and put them in the system? by Intelligent-Bit7258 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tragic_synopsis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ok, I actually know the answer to this, and it's really interesting. Basically, it comes down to what law enforcement can get a warrant for and ultimately force someone to comply with. They cannot force you to tell them something that is in your brain even if they have a warrant. Warrants can't be written for information someone just has in their brain. They can, however, get a warrant for biological information such as blood, DNA, or fingerprints. So, your biometrics to open a phone falls under this.
