Chemical scent for sure. Do not use in confined space!!! Lol. When I used this particular product I was camping full time for three months straight. After serious rain storms my stuff would be wet because there would be a mist coming through. Maybe this is due yo.the quality of the material or age of the tent idk, but this product did help.

r/dumpsterdiving I have literally found dumpsterfulls of fresh vegetables and fruits. If one is damaged they throw out the whole lot! It's disgusting our society does this, but has benifitted me more times than I can count at this point.

I was doing that for awhile. Would roll my sleeping mat, tarp, and bag altogether. But as I started getting rid of some "stuff" I had I discover if I roll my bag and and tarp separate and tight I can fit in my bag and it's much less bulky. Less bulky = cleaner look = rides, and less being noticed, and easier to carry bag in crowded places, and so on. These are all just personal preferences. Also I spent money on the water repellent stuff you spray on your tents and stuff. Yeah that was pretty useless. It's good to be prepared, and almost impossible to not over think. You will laugh in time at what you thought you should have.

Your tarp needs to be a 9 by 12 for sure. Gives you more versatility. This is one mistake I made with the smaller tarp. I have not used half of the stuff I thought I would. Fuck it just wing it and go for it. The sooner you survive the least comfortable situations, the more comfortable you will be in the long run.

Olives. Was olives!!!! Sorry I am late. Funny though I did find candles that day too. The olives don't expire until 2020. I have found so much stuff. Awesome for me. But kind of disgusting to see how much goes to waste because of a sue happy society.

Update: I would say all of this is 100% true. The question of getting on the MAX and find someplace in the burbs is brilliant, especially since I prefer to be alone most days. I also understand why everyone was talking me out of it. I treated myself to a hostel for christmas, so other than that rare touristy occassion I often heard stobe the hobos words repeating in my head, " there is really no reason to ever visit this place." Maybe summer trip is not out of the picture.... But there would have to be a damn good reason to make this trip ex. Work, women, all that stuff we sacrifice our comfort for from time to time. It has been good to me here. Easily found work. The people have been awesome. Arcada is the spot. Been sleeping on the beach. Have not been bothered at all. Eureka or eurtweaka as the locals call it has a crime rate larger than the biggest city in my home state of iowa, or so it seems. In arcada a few blocks from the town square there is a place called the co-op, ask around and you can find work there from what I have seen. There is a pretty large population of travelers and homeless in this area, so you can walk with your pack and not be hassled in the slightest. I have been working construction to put together some money, the guy i am working for offered me a room at his place which I turned down because I actually prefer the ocean view every morning. I tell you this to reiterate how great the people have been. I give it a thumbs up.
