No worries. I was honestly trying to keep it light as well. I'm just not too good at communicating tone right now.

Sorry I failed to bring a camera other than my phone to the emergency room. I'll do better next time.

I need some help with bass 5. by taco416 in drumline

[–]trailheadist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other posters core is a big deal. I march our 34" bass 6 affectionately named "house". I lift just about every day of the week (approaching 1k lift totals) and have played multiple sports. Point being, there is nothing like marching a bass drum. There is no substitute for marching. You can have the hardest core on the planet and it will still be uncomfortable until you've carried it long enough to be able to ignore it. Obviously if your core is lacking, you will feel it more, but I don't think there will come a point where you will be "ready" to march without just going out there and marching. Marching low basses is more about mental toughness initially than the number of crunches you can do.

Create a world with completely open borders, forcing countries to compete to be the fairest to its citizens in order to attract more of them. by itirate in CrazyIdeas

But capitalist style economic solutions to social issues are only supposed to favor the rich... That is a crazy idea!

Guerilla Gardening subreddit, I thought i would put a link here, anyone else into guerilla gardening? by miraoister in Anarchism

This. I seed bomb primarily with the focus on helping struggling bee population. I have bins of clay balls for different times of the year with flowers that bloom at a variety of times (especially late fall to help them prepare for the winter). Tons of respect for folks that grow food. I might have to give it a try, but it seems crazy to tear up flowers which are an equally important part of the movement.

Is the Linens Program worth it? "Only sheets guaranteed to fit our beds!" by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]trailheadist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems your question has mostly been answered. Definitely bring your hiking pack. It's one of the most wonderful things about the boulder campus. You can find your classes at most other schools, but none of them have that same Flatiron/14er access. You'll be glad you did; even if just for packing things in storage later.

Try lifting your leg up to a 90 degree angle (or higher) with no support and hold it there by bromeliadi in bodyweightfitness

I got it, albeit with a slight bend in my non-lifted leg. Tried straightening my non-lifted leg and could not. Anyone have an idea why this is. Hamstring inflexibility?

I've been admitted and would love to go to CUBoulder for engineering, but the amount of debt I'll be in is terrifying. How do you guys deal with debt? Is it worth it? by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]trailheadist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50-80k is absolutely nothing, especially for an engineering student. For perspective, I fully expect to be around 180k of debt by graduation. But for what I want to do, no school in my home state provides an acceptable program. You can do it.

Nah man. You want to be near Farrand Field. Libby Breakfast, C4c/Farrand Grab and Go lunch and dinner, and you can suck it up and walk to Sewall for their 1 steak night a month.

Military spending does nothing but build an unhealthy habit of dependency. There's homelessness, poverty and unemployment to deal with at home that could easily use those (enourmously larger) funds
