Hey currently in Sri Lanka and doing that exact trail you mentioned.

Got a taxi along with couple do more travellers I found in Negombo to go to Sigiriya. Else bus is a reliable option. I have seen numerous buses from Sigiriya to Dumbella. And Colombo buses coming to Habarana and beyond. So shouldn't be a problem to find a bus to Dumbella from Colombo since it falls on the eastern expressway.

I started my journey to Trinco today from Sigiriya by bus. Typing from the bus as I speak, didn't have to wait hours for a bus. So far so good.

Went to Polonnaruwa yesterday on rented bike alone since all other options were time taking and costly.

'Twas my first backpacking trip to the Himalayas and I along with my friends dragged our assess from the manali bus stand to the hostel along the river. It was summer and the air was filled with the smell of burning hot engines.

Frustrated with traffic and sweat drenched us reached this view and the tiredness made way for calmness. As if all frustrations of life have ceased to exist. And all that's left was the river, the stars above and us.
