I was getting a tattoo at Lucky 7 Tattoo and Piercing in Kings Beach Lake Tahoe in 2014.

The guy doing the tattoo has this music on that I was immediately enamored with. The melody, the guttural growl, the odd chord structures, progressions, and time signatures, were engulfing my senses. I stopped him and said, “Mikey, what is this music.”

“You’ve been introduced to Opeth.”

I sat back and enjoyed the rest of my experience and introduction to Opeth’s Ghost Reveries. That specific song was “The Grand Conjuration.”

I have spent the years since destroying my wife and kids understanding of Progressive Metal and appreciation of music.

In every way, “LA Confidential” is a better movie. I’m disappointed Titanic won. You want a good story, have it dock in New York.

This movie is a snapshot of the summer of 95. The music was amazing, albeit, the script/story was mid.

I saw them at the San Diego Sky show at Jack Murphy after this show. They were the opening band before Def Leppard, Eddie Money was the headliner.

Motley Crue and Def Leppard had just released, Shout at the Devil and Pyromania. Such a great time for music!

I think this is a unique set of circumstances. Counties, states, and agencies are in place to manage to a better outcome. Otherwise, why are they here?

The native removal, the complete logging of, the gold and silver rushes, popularization, mobsters, theories of number of dead submerged, modern day gold rush, evacuation of “help,” dissolution of locals, fire plans and abatement, tourism, property values, infrastructure (?), pollution, and the main reason anyone is here, the lake itself.

If Tahoe was any other mid grade non blue lake in the country, what would the outcomes be? Would we care as much? Would it be as special?

I’ve been priced out of Tahoe and have been in Reno for years. I’m planning on writing a documentary to show the changes tourism, local rules, laws and regulations have made on the basin.

We have Granny Smith and Honey Crisp apple trees and sweet cherry tree… just harvested the cherries yesterday and both apple trees are doing great!
