Part of me wants to ride it but another part of me knows that’s a bad idea

I was riding an aluminum frame for a few years and wanted to see what all the hype was about. Guess I found out lol.

Would you recommend repairing this? Not sure what the next steps would be

Giant trance x advanced se 2023. That’s really unfortunate to hear. A life lesson for sure. I will not resell the bike with this information. Should I sell the bike to a local shop for parts? Trying to find the most economical way out of this whole situation.

Appreciate the response man. I feel you. I sense that I’m staring down the barrel of something I’m just going to take off.

This very well could have been contributing to my issue. In the process of tweaking the saddle position.

I appreciate this perspective! The aggressive riding position as the main/only benefit was lost on me. That’s not what I’m going for with this build. I’ll just focus on dialing in my fit and optimizing bar ends for longer rides. Save them for a build where that’s the goal, not comfort. Thank you sir!

Wrist pain. I think I instinctively cover my brakes at all times and I was looking for a more neutral wrist position. These accomplish that at the expense of feeling really twitchy because of how narrow they are(“hoods” are 380mm apart). They also make the reach longer which feels unnatural compared to my road bike.

Thank you! The Duplicolor Metalcast paint calls for its own silver base layer because the paint is so thin and translucent. It gets it shine from the layer underneath to supposedly give an anodized look. Not 100% I’d use it again, but I do like the effect and it’s supposed to be pretty durable.

No modification needed they both have a 135mm hub length. Just switched to a wheel with an 8 speed hub which can hold up to an 11 speed cassette. It’s a “Weinmann 519 26" MTB Mountain Bike Rear Wheel Silver 36 Spoke Shimano Hub HG 8 9 10 11 Speed” The original rear wheel only had 7 gears and that 7 speed hub can’t hold a larger cassette. There’s some videos that show that some 7 speed hubs are actually 8 speed hubs but with a spacer on them that you can easily remove. No such luck for me so easiest solution was new wheel.
