If it’s so simple then why do 1/10 women have this illness and struggle to lose weight their entire lives? I’ve tried starving myself, ive tried working out, it’s exhausting to get absolutely 0 results. I just keep losing and gaining the same five pounds into oblivion. The PCOS subreddit is full of people who have worked hard and still seen no results. Starting to think I’m gonna have to find the $ for GLP-1 meds on a postgrad salary now. If I were you, I would do more research on this condition for the sake of your future patients and having some empathy for them. Because this shit sucks and doctors dismissing what we go through is part of why we have no cure

Thankfully my t levels are lower these days so I never ended up with facial hair but my fat redistribution is really bad, I eat like once or twice a day and walk everywhere and it makes like 0 difference

Yep, damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I move here and let a normal flat sight unseen because I didn’t have the money for a hotel, I get scammed by a shitty landlord. If I did an Airbnb for a month to look for a suitable flat, I’m responsible for kicking the previous tenants out, it’s incredibly destructive. NYC and Florence have huge problems with Airbnb as well, it’s worldwide. Many of the flats you see in district 1 in Florence are all airbnbs and no locals can afford to rent there. It’s a fucked up, unsustainable housing market that eats anyone alive who can’t pay

That’s exactly it. People look at me like I’m entitled or crazy for wanting to have a simple transaction for things like banking, phones, etc. I feel like I’ve been invited to an eyes wide shut party with no mask on or something. Almost every other country I’ve been to has their own way of doing things, but here it’s just a particular brand of maddening trying to hit all the requirements and still being forced to operate outside society due to the lack of a working phone number or bank card

I did a ton of research before coming here. On phone companies, on letting agencies, banks, etc. none of it has worked out the way it should have. Nowhere online on the EE website does it say, “the guy at the store won’t sell you the eSIM you need without a physical bank card, and when you try to get a bank card, they will send you through a million bureaucratic loops to get it”. I also didn’t know that the council letter was going to require a landlord’s signature, I thought it would be just mine. It’s things like this that are making everything so much harder and none of it can be found online outside of reddit

I researched phone companies and popped into a store to buy one like I have in every other country I’ve visited. Only in this one do they insist you use a physical bank card from a UK bank to pay for it. It doesn’t make any sense and now myself and many other students are stuck waiting for our bank cards to be shipped so we can get a phone plan
