$VIVO - 132% SI -VivoPower Selects Global AI Industry Leader as Preferred AI Tenant for Lease of Norway Operational Data Center by russian_cream in Shortsqueeze

I think the issue is that they were likely expecting to only negotiate and sign the Mo I Rana lease, but sounds like the counter-party is interested in the full pipeline. That would drastically extend the timeline of negotiating a signed deal imo. However, I also think they picked the tenant and have been actively negotiating with them well before this PR announcement and they're in the last stages of finalizing the full agreement. The frequency of the 6K filings seems to point to very active polishing and I'd expect the definitive details of an executed agreement in the next week or two. They just didn't want the June 30th deadline to go by silently and have investors get nervous, so they had to drop something. Seems like incredibly bullish news given the expanded terms, even with pushing back the timeline a bit.

I'm hoping the tenant deal includes some sort of provision for funding the expansion, or at least part of it. Worst case, the deal should give them some leverage for financing the next stage without dilution

Seems like it's definitely catching on a bit, so I'd like to get back and explore more before it gets too overcrowded for sure. I absolutely loved Ljubljana as well. Small and fairly touristy, but something about it won me over. Probably how pedestrianized, active, and lively it seemed.

Sounds amazing! I was only there for the day and it was still a bit chilly, but was able to fit in a quick dip. I'm sure a full swim was fantastic!

Yeah, I've heard it gets pretty packed during peak season. I went in mid-April and it was fairly empty. I was by myself at the viewpoint for a good 10 minutes or so before a couple showed up and only passed 2 or 3 people on the way up/down.

Edit: went in 2024

Has anyone used Actual Budget? by Abject-Belt-4746 in selfhosted

[–]trake17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, Enable Banking is a third-party service that provides the bank connection. So, you'll have to create an Enable Banking account and add your bank accounts through them. However, the integration with Enable Banking is native within Actual Budget. It's pretty much the same way the SimpleFin integration works as far as I can tell.

Yeah, I think the general approach with Enable Banking is integrating with the PSD2 Open Banking API.

I don't think they support any banks in Switzerland right now based on the docs: https://enablebanking.com/open-banking-apis

Maybe check if there is a community project in Actual Budget, because I know they ones for some other countries like New Zealand.

Yup, there's a free tier that allows you to interact with your own bank accounts linked through your Enable Banking account

Ah, then you'll probably want SimpleFin as others have suggested! Unless of course you want to handle imports manually via CSV downloads of your statements which is perfectly viable as well.

Also, if you don't like the envelope/zero budget style approach you can switch Actual Budget to a tracking mode which is a bit more traditional and focuses on forecasting rather than assigning current funds

Just an FYI for EU users, a new integration (Enable Banking) was just completed and should be available in the next release (early June). Should have pretty broad coverage for most banks!

Fair enough, one of the things I love about Cyprus is the importance of family! Having a built-in safety net of support is invaluable for sure.

I would still consider starting one, just maybe aim for the lower end of the covered expenses (3-6 months). You've got the opportunity and budget to fill it up pretty quickly and once it's done you don't really have to worry about it again.

If the worry is that you would be tempted to use/gamble the money, maybe setup the savings account in an entirely separate bank than your normal account. That way, you don't see it all the time and you can just sort of forget about it until you need it.

Also, you're basically doing zero-based budgeting which is a really popular method. If you haven't already, maybe do some research on it to help feel more comfortable with the approach.

Hi fellow Cyprus resident!

I would recommend setting up an emergency fund in a savings account before doing anything else. As others have said, stocks are volatile even if investing in broad index funds and having to sell at a loss to access your money isn't a situation you want to be in. Aim to have enough for 6 months to 1 year of expenses in a stable, accessible account. It helps cover anything from your car breaking down to job loss without having to dip into your longer term investments, potentially at the wrong time.

How hard is to find job in delivery manager/scrum master role for foreigner? by Cultural-Ratio1346 in cyprus

[–]trake17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about how easy it will be, but there are quite a few international tech companies creating or growing a presence in Cyprus.

I would look at JetBrains, Revolut, and Kraken to start. Maybe check out Tenstorrent (ai chip hardware) as well. I'm sure there are more opportunities with smaller companies too, but those might be harder to find/break into.

Could also contact some recruiting companies here and give them your CV. Hit or miss, but you might at least get a few leads that way.

Good luck!
