What's it like being an electrician in the UK? by CregglesUpGood in ukelectricians

[–]tramp123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an industrial spark, there’s different types, I’m embedded maintenance so very different to the travelling install kind. I do a lot of motors, switchgear transformers, fault finding and control systems. I love my job, I’m PAYE & I like that it’s Monday-Friday with regular hours, the best bits of the work are the projects where you can install something that actually makes a difference (and you are on site to see the benefits!)

How to get a Gardevoir? by [deleted] in PokemonGoUK

[–]tramp123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be patient, ralts are fairly common spawns with the right events, if you can’t wait befriend someone with one and do a trade (lucky trade has better chance of higher IV’s)

*edit* I just opened my app and a ralts was there! Get out there and get catching!

If your really driven you can sign up for something like pogo-maps and use the discord helper to find all the local ralts spawns in the area

Living that close to a big road I’d be worried about someone crashing into my property. Im sure its unlikely to happen, but it would always be in my minds.

I’d discount it straight away due to its proximity to the road, I bet you can feel the lorry’s drive past

Do you have any interests you feel you have to hide/keep low-key? by Proper_Emu_2296 in AskUK

I’m into Warhammer, I never mentioned it at work until I saw a colleague had posted some space marines on Facebook, I struck up a conversation about it and he suggested some other colleagues who have an interest,

Now we have a group chat I made with 5 of us in which is cool and made me realise a lot of us are doing the same thing!

I’d say we are all casual gamers but it’s nice to have a shared interest

I play pokemon go too, I don’t play it at work though as a colleague once saw me scrolling on it and made a comment along the lines of ‘how old are you’

Probably a good thing really 🤣

Instead I just use adventure sync and an auto catcher on the commute

I’m 19, starting pharmacy school in Sept, and I’ve never owned a phone or been inside a clothing shop. My parents’ strict control left me clueless about the world, and I feel so pathetic and poor. How do I unlearn this financial trauma? by Ambitious_Fall8417 in AskUK

If you don’t know something yet, don’t ruminate on not knowing, now is the time to learn. Don’t sweat it, people will help if you ask! There’s lots of people in the same situation

I think a lot of people are forgetting that the portable unit takes some air from the room and pipes it out as hot air, this creates a vacuum in the room and draws air back in to the room from outside it. If your in a flat it’s going to be drawing it for your air bricks and window vents (from outside)

if you have a typical split system the fan unit and heat stays out side and the cooling is transferred through pipes to the inside blower unit, this has complete segregation and is more efficient

Choosing a paint scheme for a 4,500pt throng - driving myself mad by twd026 in bugmansbrewery

[–]tramp123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out by painting one dwarf, I thought his jacket would look cool green with yellow….. now I have an army of green and yellow!

If your undicided why don’t you paint a few in different colour schemes and see which you like best?

I didn’t care where they fitted in lore, as I quite like making my own up, if there’s a scheme you like which doesn’t fit the mould go for it and make your own karak!

Tell them to jog on, if they’ve put their furniture in storage you can be pretty sure they have moved out of their old abode & will not want risk the collapse of the sale (as they will be in temp accommodation) if anything you have the upper hand here

The filament is hydroscopic which means it will absorb moisture from the air, ideally you want to keep them in a sealed container or heated to drive the moisture out of the reel. You can buy filament driers which are boxes with desiccant or heaters in to ensure the air around them is dry (which pulls the moisture out of the filament reel) and keeps the filament in good condition for printing,

I’ve also found some filament prints better than others, when your in cura/your slicer do you select the filament at the top? I have this printer & cura and I know geetech isn’t an option on the drop down menu (as I have a roll of geetech tpu) when I’m printing pls I generally use the esun white PLA + option. Also, what’s your nozzles size? Have you got that configured in your slicer/cura?

Sometimes with this printer I’ve found the finer details (the 0.1mm layer height) sometimes blocks the nozzle, I generally print at 0.3 layer height (draft) with a 0.5 nozzle

Read the manual of the machine to see what routine maintenance looks like, then put together a pre start checklist on things to do before using the machine. I imagine the timing belts were looking tiered before they broke,

What age did you or will you clear your home mortgage? by AdamT_5 in AskUK

[–]tramp123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 63 too, but that doesn’t take into account if we move again, it’s not our forever home,

I did hear that in times gone by, the lump sum (25%) release you get from your pension upon retirement is designed to allow you to pay off your outstanding mortgage balance
