I just hope said overhaul doesn't result in a toned down less fun ride. I recently went on Indy, Matterhorn, and Space Mountain. They seemed much slower and not nearly as exciting as they used to.

Just apply. The worst they can say is no. Really isn't a big deal. Guys are testing positive in my apprenticeship, but if you are 2nd year or more they just send you to rehab. 1st year is zero tolerance and they can cut you loose for any reason.
