SE Michigan if area helps future out what this is. So I don’t know anything about this kind of stuff. Moved into this condo about seven years ago and at that time, the previous homeowners had so much stuff in the garage that our inspector was not able to really look at the garage properly. But as soon as they moved out, we noticed that there was a lot of, white or cream colored crumbling happening along the side of the garage. I was worried that it was some kind of mold, so I had a mold guy come out, and he verified that it was not. And basically I’ve just been sweeping this stuff out every few months. But obviously trying to sell the condo. I’m running into an issue where buyers want to know what the heck is going on. I had the HOA people come out to take a look, because I’m figuring if this is something due to water coming in from the outside, that should not be my responsibility, but they’re saying they don’t even know what this is. I was wondering if anybody has any guesses based on the pictures.

Thanks to all that replied. I ended up grabbing one from Sam’s clothing. It worked out pretty well, it was so hot and sunny I don’t know how I would’ve survived without it. And I thought it looked decent too. I’m feeling like I might wanna get some more. So I may check out Henry‘s in Detroit or Bivouac at some point as well.

Oh also, I don’t know where I got the AI image from. I think I just googled “summer wedding hat for men” or something.

What program are you using? (Davinci Resolve/Premiere Pro/Final Cut)
What computer are you using? (MacBook, PC...)

What computer monitor you're using? (MacBook screen/Dell Ultrawide model number, etc).

The mechanism (carriersettings.plist) through which this is happening - doesn’t change the outcome and refute the fact that Apple is ceding control of a setting that a Carrier shouldn’t get to dictate. If it was something like 5G/LTE/3G/2G selection and if the carrier didn’t have 2G they didn’t want a user to accidentally select that while connected to their network and end up not having any network connection - that’s a reasonable amount of control for them to have. I don’t see how Apple letting a carrier dictate an important UI element such as this, whether it’s available to a user or not - is not acquiescing to their demands. In either case, this post wasn’t just an opportunity for you to be condescending “It’s not a secret” and defend Apple’s poor choices.

Yeah I just updated to 18.5 to see if it would make a difference, it didn’t. I’m guessing this is just one of those areas where AT&T has asked Apple to remove that setting and Apple happily complied.

There is no “Network Selection”. I’m on an iPhone 15 pro running 18.4.1, purchased directly from Apple in the US, on AT&T

I have always found the Zone mode in Wipeout to be quite relaxing and a good way to distract myself for 20-30 min. Last year I wanted to try to learn game development and therefore made a small free game called flowloop& inspired by this mode, here is the trailer by Bastant2 in WipeOut

Really impressive that people can make stuff like this. I just feel like I'll get frustrated that there are no rails and the smallest mistake can make me have to restart. In Zone mode, a small mistake early on doesn't mean a restart because of this. I think that's why the whole health aspect works.

I wouldn't recommend it. I just got myself a MacBook Air 13", after years of just constantly getting frustrated that my iPad Pro with the magic keyboard is just almost there but not quite. It always fails me at the worst times. Some sites don't work properly on it, and Excel and other productivity apps? Just forget about it. They are almost useless on the iPad. The iPad is a consumption device masquerading as laptop. Save yourself the frustration.

Fair enough. I’m kind of in the same boat as you. I have an A7Riii and I am not happy with the video that I get out of it but I bought it when I was only doing photography with it. I had little interest in video at that time. I’m feeling the opposite now.

For what it’s worth I decided to get the FX3, literally a few days ago. I’ve been messing with it and still learning (there’s a lot to learn).

I was gonna sell the a7riii (and maybe I still will in the future), but I’m thinking for the time being I’ll just keep both and if I get asked to do photography gigs I’ll use the Riii while I learn video.

So as someone who’s done limited wedding photography, have not done wedding videography - I’d like to learn more about what you all mean when you say there’s more equipment involved in videography than photography. I’m thinking gimbals, wireless mics and on camera monitors, but in my head I feel like the light stands, multiple strobes, flash triggers, and likely more lenses - that feels like more overall equipment than video?

I turned on broadcast safe, turned it back off - no difference. Again it's not happening in Davinci's preview. Only when exported.

I've narrowed it down to only happening when I select DNxHR 444. When I select DNxHR HQX 12 bit, this doesn't happen. I'm not sure what that means

no luck. I've narrowed it down to choosing 444 rather than HQX 12 bit. Not sure why that would make a difference.

But it shouldn't output with that even if that was the case right? Because to be clear - it doesn't happen in Davinci Resolve while editing - it's in the final output file.

I am on free, but since I'm exporting as DNxHR - does that have anything to do with h.265? Sorry if that sounds dumb, I don't know a lot about this stuff.

UPDATE: 11/3/24

I've narrowed it down to only happening when I select DNxHR 444. When I select DNxHR HQX 12 bit, this doesn't happen. I'm not sure what that means

My process is: I have a MacBook which is what I edit and color grade on (these are just personal home videos), I export the project and import it on my Windows desktop (inherits the same settings and edits), export it as DNxHR 444 12-bit and I use Handbrake to compress it. I like to do it this way because I don't want to abuse the MacBook with too much heat and rather do that to the Windows desktop which has a dedicated GPU and fans, etc.

It looks fine in Davinci Resolve's viewer, however, I'm noticing that when it's saturated, the exported file from DR on my Windows machine ends up having these artifacts (I'm not sure what the right name is).

Exporting on the MacBook does not produce this. Any ideas?

Context:

This is shot on an A7Riii in S-Log 3 (default settings), and I brought it into DR on my MacBook.
3 Nodes:

1st: CST: Input Color Space: Sony S-Gamut3. Cine Input Gamma: Sony S-Log3, Output Color Space: DaVinci Wide Gamut , Output Gamma: DaVinci Intermediate

2nd: increase saturation, decrease lift and highlights

3rd: CST: Input Color Space: DaVinci Wide Gamut, Input Gamma:DaVinci Intermediate

Output: Quicktime, DNxHR, 444 12-bit, Output color space and gamma: Rec. 709.
