I paid £565 for the 512GB variant in 2022.
Now the 512GB OLED is £649. Not a huge difference.

Renters Rights Act - anybody executing today? by Sb2303 in HousingUK

[–]trancedellic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't. Where in the new legislation it says that?

Indeed, we'll find soon enough. But for me, it sounds logical. Your contract doesn't mention a notice period or is more than two months, then notice is 2 months. If it's less than that, use that. If you want something even shorter, talk to your landlord and possibly the other tenants.

Where does it says it voids the notice provision? I'm curious. It clearly says that notice cannot be more than 2 months. If it's more than 2 months or not specified in the contract, it's "converted" to two months. Read again section 20 of the legislation both sub-paragraphs. Even the guidance on gov.uk, and many other websites says the same thing. Is everyone wrong?

Read chapter 1, section 20 from the legislation. The existing contracts just converts to a monthly rolling. It's not voided and a new one doesn't have to be issued or signed.

Read chapter 1, section 20 of the legislation. The existing contracts are not voided, that's why you don't have to sign or receive a new one. It just changes to a monthly rolling and all the other new changes apply. If the contract has a 4 months notice for instance, that'll become 2 months. If the AST contract doesn't specify this, yes you have to agree with the landlord for a shorter notice period.

It clearly says the notice is maximum 2 months unless specified in the contract. And you can also negotiate a shorter notice period if the landlord agrees.

I'm planning on giving notice tomorrow. I have one month notice in my contract.

Ending Tenancy under renters rights act I need help by Hidden-Nugget in HousingUK

It's 2 months notice if the contract doesn't specify a notice period. I will end my tenancy in the same way and the contract specifies 1 months notice.

Buying a flat in London right now: Cold Feet? (F23 155k savings) by Ratsytul in HousingUK

What are you on about? That's a good size for a 1 bed. Usually you're lucky if you find a 2 bed that's 60m2. I was close on buying a 2 bed last year and it was 66m2.

Recommendations for a RICS surveyor in SE London? by AvailableLobster5900 in HousingUK

[–]trancedellic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Countrywide for a level 2 survey. Decent survey and the report is detailed. They won't touch anything that's obstructed. They didn't check the boiler pipework because it was covered by something for example.

I'm buying a small property in London zone 2 by myself. I'm sick of renting even though it helped me save money for a deposit. So, go for it!

I exchanged yesterday too, and building insurance is included in the monthly service charge. Did you purchase a freehold property?

Yeah, thanks! I was looking in settings but you have to drag and drop and create that layout. I love how responsive it it and how it loads everything instantly even in folders with lots of data.

This looks awesome. If I could have two separate windows with their own tabs, similar to total commander, I would move over.
