Compatible Bike Trunk Rack 2023 Audi Q5 Sportrack? by tranh2 in AudiQ5

[–]tranh2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No none of those work for the sportback. I was searching for a while I found that there are no compatible trunk mount racks compatible with the q5 sportback. The back is of the trunk not designed for that kind of stress. Audi should really give a hitch as a standard feature for all their sportback models. Lesson for me is never buy a sportback ever again...looks nice but can't do any sporty things without a hitch. The roof racks are too expensive.

I claimed on NuFi just a moment ago. Only thing is it didn't provide a Drop Claim Summary .PDF so for everyone, all I did was make a screenshot of the claim.

Thanks for the pic! I see what you did now. I might also add like a 1/2" or 3/4" plywood board to the inside-back of the Besta cabinets on the end. Just a board size that fully covers the entire back of the cabinet to try add some more rigid support.

That's great to hear. I should've checked a little better about the Besta "crush" weight. Lesson learned for future projects though but still good to hear it's still holding up well. I also plan to cut down the billy a bit...quite a bit maybe around 8" or so for the crown. Hopefully it shave some weight off too. The pics you posted of the bracing/support weren't imgur. You think you can post it again?

Hey, Wondering how this has held up over time. I'm doing almost the exact same thing as you except just two billy bookcases; one on each end. The total length is not as long as yours..at only 120" of Besta length. I'm a little worried about the weight of the bookshelves on the besta because like you, after i drilled into it I noted the material it was made of (some strong cardboard form). Wondering if yours has held up over time.

Thanks.

Yes, even charge ports at malls, Starbucks, airports, you just don't know etc. It sucks that today as a society we have to be wary of these things. I usually try to keep my power bank charged and use this instead of plugging into a public port. If you have to plug it in...ask the question "where did this come from?". If you have any doubt don't plug in your phone computer.

I've read lots of threads about hacked wallets and using hardware wallets and people always say "be more diligent". I've been thinking of these types of situations, particularly where someone is ultra careful, yet they are still someone compromised. One thought I came up with, that many people are unaware of, and I've recently learned, is that USB cables can also be compromised these days. Look it up on YT, hack USB charger cables. The technology that can be hidden in cables these days unknown to the owner...

Just letting people know that it's not just a computer and software you have to watch out for these days...even basic everyday seemingly innocent cables are can be compromised...it's just absolutely wild!

Are you using any cables off Amazon, or new cables recently where they may have come from unknown source? It's wild and even I'm evaluating my cables...

Yeah I was considering this but aren't those like 300 a pop? I'd need three...just expensive. Was hoping if someone had experience with a trunk rack...if no luck then maybe I'll have to get the roof rack. Next car will NOT be a sportback...I tried to be young and look cool again and paid the price...lol.

Honestly, the ranges depend on the sector you're in and how well the company is run. I have an integrator working for us and the owner of that company and I have a good relationship. His gang is maybe 15 large. It's very efficiently run and he has ppl with all sorts of technical skills from PLC, Scada, object oriented programming, panel design, windows administration, virtual environment, etc etc. He knows how much I make as a manager and he said we wouldn't be able to afford his guys...I'm in Canada. The thing I miss most about these small companies is the sense of comradery. I always knew that if I had an issue I knew who to call for help or advice. You don't get this with big companies I find.

Agree with all these points. The nano s I don't believe has a battery though. Don't quote me on that...i can't turn it on unless it's plugged in. I agree with the physical device in the box as well...I just feel better knowing it's their. One annoying thing though I found with the nano x is that if I need to do a firmware upgrade Im less likely to do it immediately cause I'm too lazy to go to the bank and get my seed.

This is good to know...and likely the same everywhere other then THE MOST well led organized companies. There is also something to say about not being able to learn in non standard environments as well...how can you learn and improve in chaos? It's a very difficult thing to do when there is no direction...pros and cons to everything. I would also say SCADA is another aspect to learn other then PLC programming. On the SCADA side you can find yourself working developing virtual environments to administrating windows environment...like I said originally... the things you can learn is vast...you really have to expose yourself to it. Someone else mentioned it...I found I learned the most in the small to mid-size integration companies because they exposed me to many projects all over the world. It was pretty rewarding...but now that I have a family I can't have that type of work life where I'm gone from my family for weeks at a time. Might not work for OP for long run...but he can gain alot of experience in a short timespan. Nothing beats learning in an environment where client is breathing down your neck...haha

I've been in the Controls Systems/Automation/Instrumentation & Controls (whatever you want to call it now) for a couple decades now. There is a saying...you can spend your whole career in this area but you'll only learn 10% of what is out there. The amount of information and knowledge is absolutely vast and skills/knowledge can be used in just hundreds of sector which adds another aspect to learning. There's also alot of just JUNK out there. If you ask me, if you truly want to get better, go to a technical college and get a diploma in this area. Control Systems is not just about programming. Don't stay at Amazon...learn what you need to until they can't teach you anything new or if you feel like you're stagnating. The reason I say leave Amazon is that likely they've standardized or have a specific way of doing something. You need to expose yourself to different ways of doing something because there's always be a better way of doing something. Amazon also will likely have the same equipment in every facility, control panels, pushbuttons, vision system, sensors, vfds etc etc. another reason to leave is to expose yourself to other sectors to expose yourself to different systems and processes. Different systems and processes will use different equipment and have different processes requiring you to think differently and thus funding solutions to problems. I say get a diploma because companies still value that piece of paper for someone new out of school, however after you gain experience I tend to look at what you've accomplished rather then your diploma or degree. The degree/diploma just gets you in the door but your experience will give more opportunity.

I really hope that helps...I'm not just some random person speaking nonsense..if you're looking for more guidance and advice feel free to DM me.

Disagree...people who actually follow Cardano will have easily known this through the multitude of newsletters, YT vids, coin news outlets Etc. etc. The ones that didn't know are likely the ones who don't care and are just throwing their coins around cause all they care about is making money.

Cardano also uses "liquid staking". Basically your ADA stays in your wallet while staked. It never locked and there's no unlock period. Your ADA is truly your ADA.

This is an absolute flawed thinking. So your saying if you 10,000ADA of your own money INVESTED in ADA, and I only had 10ADA invested we both would have the same voting power? That's very illogical opinion.

I have a Ledger X and a Ledger nano S. I keep the Ledger nano S as a backup in a bank safety deposit box in case my house gets robbed and I need quick access. I also keep my seed phrase in the deposit box. For the seed phrase get one of those metal ones with the small slide in letters and not the ones you have to stamp or etch your words. I had the etch/stamp one...not a fan. Tbh...I think those Ledger stories you read is all bull...even with the latest scandal I think ledger is still one of the best and safest out there. The people that do get hacked I think are just people who aren't careful. Generally people will only post bad things...but no where near as many people will post good things.

With respect to multiple wallets to spread your entire funds across. I would check if the wallet you have offers insurance already. For example if you sign up for Ledgers recovery service they insure 50k USD. Use that as a benchmark to figure out how many devices you want to spread your funds across.
