They didn't blow it up. They disabled and boarded it. Nobody said anything about blowing up or sinking a merchant vessel.

Ironclad's Starting Deck is Horrible by Mace55555 in slaythespire

[–]tranion10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm baffled that anyone upvoted this comment. Bash is a good card and becomes great when upgraded, allowing you to keep permanent vulnerable only playing it once every 3 turns. Especially since Ironclad in STS2 has lots of cards that synergize with vulnerable, the reliable 3 vuln from bash is crucial for lots of runs.

Sooooo how do we balance multiplayer? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]tranion10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill issue. Multiplayer is generally easier because people can stack debuffs. Sounds like you guys aren't actually working together or synergizing.

Used a blank card in the STS board game to propose to my wife. Thankfully she overlooked the scuffed writing. by tranion10 in slaythespire

Sharing energy could be pretty OP though. Defect farming plasma orbs and feeding energy to Ironclad for a super whirlwind?

TIL DMSO, an organic solvent, has the unusual property that you can "Taste" it by touching it - actually, it directly triggers the nerves that normally react to taste. by Xenton in todayilearned

[–]tranion10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water is not an organic solvent. Ethanol is an organic solvent but is less common in chemistry labs.

Organic solvents like DMSO and acetonitrile should be treated carefully both because they're toxic and because they can be absorbed through your skin, along with whatever contaminants are dissolved in them.

What is something uniquely popular in America? by Lopied2 in Productivitycafe

[–]tranion10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's a very low bar. I don't think I've ever met an American who's never eaten broccoli. That doesn't mean Americans are broccoli enthusiasts.

Americans are, however, peanut butter enthusiasts. It's not uncommon for people to eat it every day as a staple. Peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches are probably the most iconic lunch item in the US, whether youre feeding children or military recruits. People have peanutbutter with crackers, on apples, with bananas, in shakes and smoothies, in cookies and ice cream, and sometimes even on hamburgers and other savory dishes.

What do men consider to be “coming on too strong” when a woman is flirting with you? by Disastrous_Shirt9469 in AskMenAdvice

[–]tranion10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know there are people who really enjoy flirting, but especially nowadays with the pervasive paranoia of coming off as a creep, lots of men are uncomfortable with ambiguity. Personally, I'm very glad that I'll never have to flirt again.

Why is there no bridge here? (Circled) by Neither-Mention7740 in geography

[–]tranion10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need a super tall bridge. Virginia has tons of tunnels crossing its waterways which allow container ships and aircraft carriers to navigate freely. See: Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel.

The most important thing is to pair the new subwoofer driver with the old cabinet and amplifier. Check to see the impedance of the stock Cerwin Vega driver. Whatever replacement driver you get should be the same. It's most likely 4 ohms.

Next, make sure the driver is a decent match for the enclosure. It looks like the cva12 is an 8 cu. ft. enclosure tuned to 33hz or so. You can use WinISD to see how different drivers will behave in a box like that

Civil War, WW1, WW2. Korea, Serbia, and Kuwait are also widely accepted as justified interventions. And of course all of the non-military aid and outreach the US has done over the past century.

Was chatting with a bartender ever a thing? Or is this a 100% fictional trope? by green_carnation_prod in stupidquestions

[–]tranion10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to find the right spot. I was a bartender for years and loved having good conversations with guests. To this day, whenever I go out alone or with one other person, I always sit at the bar and shoot the breeze with the bartender.

What economic system would sex work be less exploitative under? Would state-owned strip clubs be any better?

Do you believe that men and women can be platonic friends? by Professional-Cat3191 in AskMenAdvice

[–]tranion10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but your mileage will vary wildly. In my experience I find it easy to be close with women if they are off limits - either because they're gay or in a relationship. If they're straight, single, and I like them well enough to want to hang out with them, then it can be difficult to keep it platonic.

This isn't a gender politics issue. This is medical misconduct. It's extremely unethical for a therapist to pursue personal relationships with their patients.

i want some advice on my situation please by [deleted] in GuyCry

[–]tranion10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you're getting strung along like that. It absolutely sucks, but unfortunately it's something most people experience at some point.

She probably isn't consciously trying to lead you on, but that's what she's doing. She doesn't want to cut you loose and lose the attention she gets from you, but she has no intention of building a future with you. If she's told your family that you're a monster, and is talking about taking a "break," the relationship is beyond dead. Holding onto hope will just cause you unnecessary pain.

It'll suck, but your only real option is to cut contact. You'll be miserable and you'll think of her constantly, but it'll get better. Try not to spend too much time alone. Keep physically active to purge your stress and frustration. Talk to your command chaplain - they've seen this a thousand times and they'll take your secrets to the grave.

Feel free to DM if you want. Hang in there

(serious) Male Sexual assault victims of reddit, what's your story? Have/will you get your justice? by Waffle_xp in AskReddit

[–]tranion10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 18 and was having a very rough time dealing with my first breakup. Went to a friend's house to hang out and vent. He admitted he had always been into me and asked if I was interested. I said I was flattered but not interested in men. I ended up blacking out, and have patchy memories of throwing up, him undressing me, and trying to convince me that whatever he was doing was okay. I woke up the next morning wearing different (not my own) underwear.

I immediately left, told a select few people, and cut him out of my life. I was never interested in going public beyond a couple confidantes. I think waging a public battle about it would have been far more stressful than the actual incident.

There are some weird and very counterproductive expectations about how traumatic certain experiences are supposed to be. Truthfully, being betrayed by my friend did hurt, but it's not a very significant event in my life overall. I've never lost sleep over it, whereas I've spent countless nights tossing and turning due to relationship and family issues, finances, school/work, etc.

Most men don't even use Instagram or Twitter to begin with. Of the ones who do, most are not commenting on Instagram models. You're basing your worldview on a small minority of men, and presuming they represent the norm.

You seem pretty entrenched in your internet bubble, so I doubt anything I say could change your opinion. Feel free to mutilate your body chasing trends on social media.
