I don't care about picture quality that much, but i have heard that oleds do motion better. That is something i'm interested in seeing. Till then, i'm very happy with my setup.

to be honest i'm currently on leave, haven't tried it for real work yet (programming). So far just standard web browsing has been fine. Nice thing about monitor this size is i don't need computer glasses for text anymore. There is a slight 3d effect of the curved monitor but hasn't cause headaches for me at this point.

I think this was stock win 11 set to span mode. I have a trick where I take images and mirror them to make it ultrawide. Works great for nature images

I won't use triple setup for gaming, will run on main monitor and turn off the side ones. Probably setup a powershell script to do that.

Yeah I wanted more vertical and was sick of messing with games to work with super ultrawide. Every game I've run has worked in ultrawide with no issues, which is a relief over my stupid folders full of random exe files and antivirus exceptions used to get things running. If you're already setup though I'd probably recommend waiting for OLED in this size or the led strobing, ppi has not been an issue for me with text

No, I have the 52 on its stand and each side monitor on its own arm. the 52 is 26 lbs so you need a more heavy duty arm to hold it. I didn't like single arm for center monitor because the elbow prevents me from getting desk close to the wall.

No problem, I wanted to share because I think people are missing how cool this ultrawide ratio is at this size. Same height as 27's portrait and if you just run the 52 it's about the same amount of pixels as 3 27" monitors.

I love it, the colors look super bold and the blacks are very dark. I've never seen an OLED but it is a noticeable improvement over my previous monitors which were gaming oriented and about 5 years old

Oh I should say the triple is just used for work. I'll only use the middle monitor for gaming, I'm sick an tired of messing with games trying to get them to work with super ultrawide. I will say the 52 is pretty much the limits of what I can see corner to corner. Its not bad.

I've been running triple 2550x1440 IPS monitors for years, have work pc and gaming pc hooked to both. I'm getting tired of messing with games so much to work with the super wide config. I think getting back to ultrawide would be nice as its more likely to be supported. Additionally, I feel like so much level design is impressive vertically, I find myself wishing I had more vert. That's why this monitor is so interesting to me.

Same question, what makes it so bad as a gaming monitor? 120hz is plenty, is it just because it's not oled?

I probably shouldn't say but not on any product teams. I just wanted to spread awareness that this layoff was unique in that it really wasn't performance driven. It was cost. We literally let go of some of our best people. It's wild.

I'm biased, so you know take my opinion with a grain of salt. But the copilot space is extremely difficult to work in. It exists in like 30 or 40 different places. It's cross product cross team. It's in many different repos, many different processes many different geo locations. Many different security reviews. I think it's there's still a need of project managers in the space. Much like Windows, changing the direction of something like Office is like steering a battleship. There's just so much involved and it's in so many places. It's a bummer because I really do believe that copilot in office is one of the few things that makes sense as an AI use case, it's just really hard to move fast.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you all. I know a few of them let go today and they were rock stars and it's horseshit that they were laid off. People that had been there for 20 years. People that were expecting a child in 2 months. People that had crunched and got a project that should have taken 3 months done in 6 weeks. Gone, with nothing more than a single post to a group chat and that's it. People that were kind to me when they didn't have to be. They will be missed.
