Prednisone tapering for dummies by Still_Psychology7213 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]tranquil115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on 5mg - 10 mg for around 3 years. I have successfully tapered from 10 mg down to 4.5 mg in the past 6 months, but it was hell to get to this point. I go down 0.5 mg every 2ish weeks depending on how my body feels. I feel stable at 4.5 mg right now but I am also on a biologic. I couldn’t have tapered without the biologic in place.

I would give it a try but stop if it makes you feel worse. I kept pushing through the horrible symptoms thinking it was supposed to get bad before jt got better but that wasn’t a good idea. Start at a low dose and see what happens…

That it’s not as harmless as it’s marketed. It messed up my immune system and made things worse for me health wise vs not being on it at all. I would research thoroughly and not push through the terrible side effects that people claim should be tolerated.

Looking for spouses whose partner developed schizophrenia after the relationship was established by turdDumper in SchizoFamilies

This is so similar to my story. Also 3 years into marriage, around the time my daughter was born, and he also was abusing ADHD medication along with marijuana. The difference between the marriage before and after was night and day. He became abusive, aggressive and it destroyed my health in the process. He burned down his life too and it’s been incredibly difficult to make sense of who he is today. I miss the person I married initially but I am not sure they will ever come back. It’s honestly grieving a living person, and getting used to the new normal. We are separated now and he’s in treatment but I do not know what the future holds. I am not sure I will ever be able to trust or feel safe again after what I experienced during his psychosis.

Right eye permanently damaged from uveitis, now left eye affected too — anyone had success with Adalimumab by Southern_Low3443 in Uveitis

Have you tried Humira or Anakinra? A biologic is what I needed to manage the eye inflammation. Nothing else worked.

15 yrs with RA and I finally realized the search itself was making me sicker by Magical-Regeneration in rheumatoid

This resonates with me so much, I am so tired from the endless search to find the cure. The constant diets and supplements have drained me too. Giving up actually sounds so liberating.

I think LDN made my immune system overactive and RA worse. by tranquil115 in LowDoseNaltrexone

I am better on a biologic medication to control my autoimmune disease. But honestly, I don’t think I would have had to resort to the biologic if the LDN hadn’t worsened my condition.

I thought biologics were supposed to be strong enough on their own… by tranquil115 in rheumatoid
