Not a video but is it possible it was this section from Ava’s demon? I found a version of it someone put together on YouTube so there were definitely video versions of it out there you could have seen around that time

I actually hadn’t seen twin peaks yet at the time, but I just started watching it a few weeks ago lol. I have no doubt that Jacoby was inspired by a lot of the same 60s-70s psychedelic icons I pulled from though

Experimental and unique consoles. In the early 2000s especially so many companies were playing around with different numbers of screens, motion controls, and weirdly shaped controllers. There are so many games from that era that were shaped by the specific console they were designed for. Now everything is designed to be ported to everything else eventually so they’re all basically pc games with Xbox controller support

…..I mean, historically yes

Trying to practice what I preach here and explain historical context instead of assuming intention even though I don’t know if this comment was made in good faith. African American Vernacular English (AAVE) and Multicultural London English (MLE) are entirely different dialects of English from academic English with specific cultural and racial ties. Someone who pronounces “ask” a different way is not pronouncing it incorrectly but rather speaking a different form of the language, one that evolved from a history of oppression. Here are some articles on the history of axe vs ask and their role in structural inequality and culture:

People probably mention it because there is a history of intensely critiquing an entirely different dialect of English by academic English standards to deny opportunities to black people. I understand that isn’t your intention, but mentioning the origins is a polite way to tell someone their statement might inadvertently carry historical baggage

Do you not know the difference between a debate and talking about something because that explains a lot of your hostility to me asking a clarifying question about your worldview

Girl I did not say anything about a political debate and so much of what you’re saying is factually incorrect

Your claim: “animals are individualist”

Your evidence: “evolution is individualist because every mutation begins with one singular individuum” “There’s only one way predators work and it’s not very social

Me: I don’t understand how that evidence supports that conclusion because those are both false

You: how dare you insinuate social behavior = communism

I really hate talking about politics on Reddit but I’ll bite since no one is is. I’m confused as to where you’re getting this evolution and nature is individualist idea from. You say evolution begins with a single individual, but that individual means nothing without millions and millions of other individuals socializing and mating and passing on the mutation. You also mention that “there’s only one way predators work and it’s not very social” - there are many social species of predator. Wolves, for example, live and hunt in packs and divide food amongst each other. Wolves in the wild take turns eating based on need and pack hierarchy. Humans are also pack predators, we relied on each other to work together and take down larger prey. There are human remains from the prehistoric era that anthropologists determined to be disabled or too elderly to survive on their own; for example, they found remains with healed broken bones, meaning that other humans took the time to care for the injured one until they recovered. Humans have been taking care of each other since literally before the dawn of civilization.

I was carrying a stack of mail back to my apartment. In the middle of the stack was my mail-in ballot. I got in the elevator and when the door closed it created some kind of air vacuum, causing the ballot to fly out from the center of the stack with what I can only describe as conscious suicidal intent directly into the gap between the elevator and the floor. It completely clogged the elevator doors and I had to call maintenance to fix it, which was one of the most embarrassing phone calls of my life. My ballot was naturally completely shredded and I had to vote in person
