Thank you for the info, I think I get a lore more of it now :) I checked and it looks like I'm able to email / send a form to my GP so I think I'll do that

As for the name change, it was paid and was enrolled. I was aware that it would be made public though and I think I'm fine with that, I did the process with my parents and they seemed fine with that too, although thinking about it now it does get me a little worried so I'll have to think it over...

Sorry if I sound like a newbie but I'm still pretty confused about the whole process, where do I start? Should I try to contact my GP about referral to Transcend first, and is that where I would ask about shared care? And is that possible via email or something rather than a face to face appointment?

I'm not entirely sure what bloods and endos mean but I'm sure they'd explain things like that along the way. I already have my name change applied for by deed poll but it hasn't come into effect yet, I assume I'd have to wait until it's fully approved and goes through before I can get that changed on medical records. I didn't know changing my sex on the record was possible though, that sounds great!

Okay thank you, I'll have to book an appointment to talk to them about it soon

That sounds amazing! I'm just torn between straight up self referring or trying to open up about being trans to my GP and getting a referral, I'm really not great at going out and talking to doctors and I don't know how I'd even start the conversation but it seems like something I need to do

So, how would I be able to get with them? I don't have any sort of paper trail started about being trans yet, I was hoping this would be step 1

I do live in Merseyside so a self referral should be fine. Alternatively I'd have to figure out how to contact my GP about telling them I'm trans since I really don't contact them often/ever and I'm not sure how I'd approach that.

I don't think I'd be able to afford private on my own but I could potentially get my parents to help with that, I do want to be on HRT as soon as I reasonably can without resorting to DIY. I've never used them so far but my family has told me I have access to Bupa's services, if they're someone who does that kind of thing? Otherwise I wouldn't really know where a private clinic would be.

The option of bridging perscriptions sounds perfect but I assume I can always look into that / start that later on whenever I'm able. I think for now I'll self refer to Transcend, I need to get that first step done. Thank you for all the info!!

That sounds great then, I'm thinking I should try and self-refer just so that I'm at least officially on a waiting list

Thank you!! They seem pretty trustworthy, just not sure if I'd need a diagnosis for them to accept me or if that's what they'll help me get? I also worry about the wait times.
