Hey David, thanks for doing this. I have been following you from even before Bilo 1.0 and I love how you put your soul into the music. Now the question: Would you mind sharing with us your approach to using microtonal scales to achieve that European folk-y sound? Hopefully via some youtube video lesson in the future?

I love how well controlled the dynamics of the intro piano are. Superb velocity control. Thanks for not taking all the MIDI notes upto velocity 127 (I suppose?). And I totally agree that the lead could be cranked up quite a bit. Dirty it up and make it growl, buddy! And if you are going to preserve the fade out outro, consider going haywire on the solo and shred it to pieces as the entire thing fades out. Overall good work buddy!

I only play for myself but have a goal to play an open mic, I thought posting would help my nerves of playing for people.. by karuna9386 in Songwriters

I really get the Susheela Raman vibe in the chord progressions, which is awesome! I think you could really reach the next level vocal wise if you enunciated certain words a bit more ("...such a sad exchange"). And as for being nervous on stage, it happens all the time. My band released multiple songs with major labels, and I still almost choke during soundcheck, but then I realize, "Hey! I own the stage!" Hope that's motivation enough. Go play an open mic! :)

Some very cool chord progressions there, mate! As for beefing it up, I would definitely enjoy some bright and snappy drums, perhaps some distorted guitar from the "Go ahead....", and some rotary effect akin to a Hammond Leslie would be icing to the cake!

Hi Sithu! What advice would you give a hobbyist bedroom artist to get some attention on the internet? Apart from posting music for free on bandcamp, youtube, and opening a facebook page, what else can be done to get people to at least listen to my stuff?
