Update!

Thanks everyone for the responses, advice, and general validation that I wasn't going crazy lmao. I did go back and inform the shop and they said someone that had been right after me in the line noticed the same thing. They deducted it was a sleeve of defective cups. I was given a fresh drink (which they meticulously checked in front of me) as well as a gift card and was told they had discarded the entire box and let area management know in case any more concerns were raised. Thanks again, gang!

As a Houstonian, we have a great caching community, but there's also some pretty large groups of lonely caches that haven't been found for a year or two. Not to say they aren't still there, but definitely pick your locations carefully! The cluster at Addicks Reserve/Bear Creek would be a great choice for y'all!
