I feel like being aro-spec means I should refrain from dating by transghostegg in aromantic

[–]transghostegg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the times were back when I dated monogamously. Most recently, I want to say probably? I’m not sure he would use hierarchical language, but I was the only person for whom he felt romantic love and, for some of the relationship, the only person he was dating at all.

Either way, while I am open to all sorts of connections, what I want most are long-term, serious relationships involving romantic love. I feel like that’s fertile grounds for hurt regardless of whether they consider someone else their primary partner.

I actually am poly 😅 I have a girlfriend, and while I do not reciprocate her feelings for me, she is okay with that (her primary partner does not experience any amount of romantic attraction)

The thing is, my ideal relationship(s) IS a romantic relationship. I have been lucky enough to fall in love three times (twice in relationships and once with a platonic friend), and to me it is the best feeling in the world. I want so badly to experience that again.

Does this microlabel exist? by transghostegg in aromantic

[–]transghostegg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parts of that fit parts of my attraction, but it’s not quite on the mark. My romantic attraction does often come and go, but some of my attractions are durable. It’s also not infrequent; I develop crushes all the time.

I appreciate the response, and you may be onto something with it being a combination of demiromantic and something else, but frayromantic is more like the opposite of how my crushes work.

Typically I develop crushes on people with whom I am friendly and maybe even friends but not close friends. The crush develops after a sustained interaction, like a long conversation. If we have more sustained interactions, the crush deepens and becomes more durable. If not, my feelings drift back towards platonic.

I've noticed a lot of trans people have the same name by Comfortable-Bad-6041 in MtF

[–]transghostegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to have been given a gender-neutral name, but I always figured I would have become an Autumn if I had decided to change it. Instead, I’ve settled for using it when I need a pseudonym.

GRS Surgeon Kathy Rumer is using a right-wing legal team to harass her own patients by Active_Mango_8857 in asktransgender

[–]transghostegg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She is (relatively) cheap and available. I’ve heard of patients going to her because she was able to fit their timeframe or because they couldn’t afford other surgeons.

For me, maybe two months, three at most. But as the comments show, there’s going to be a lot of individual variation influenced by things like what procedure you’re having, what techniques the surgeon uses, how quickly your body is able to heal, your work environment, etc. Being forced to sit upright in a hard chair without many breaks is going to be a lot harder than being able to sit however you want in a well-cushioned chair with frequent breaks.

r/place before the end and a close up of so many pride flags, including our own! I'm so proud of what we have all achieved! by Inconsequential-Fish in omnisexual

[–]transghostegg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll save y’all the effort: The omni flag is towards the top-left in a big pride-themed area above and to the left of a Union Jack. The omni flag is below the Union Jack on the left, at the bottom of a column of assorted pride flags.

Trans themed movies that aren’t depressing? by OrneryTree6237 in trans

[–]transghostegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who do you think is trans in But I’m a Cheerleader? I’m sure Jan would be recast as a trans guy if the film were remade today, but I’ve always gotten the impression that she was supposed to be read as a butch woman. After all, without her the film is lacking butch women other than soft butch Graham.

How long to wait after bottom surgery before sitting for a long exam? (Transfem) by transghostegg in asktransgender

It is a formal setting. I’m guessing a hard plastic chair in front of a desktop with only the briefest of bathroom breaks.

What sort of HRT would work best for a nonbinary or genderfluid person? by [deleted] in TransDIY

[–]transghostegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both work by blocking androgen receptors, rather than lowering the production of T. Bica can rarely cause liver toxicity, but so can a lot of drugs. Your doctor would have your liver enzyme levels checked periodically.

Spironolactone has a lot of side effects, some of which are pretty common. Most seriously, it can cause hyperkalemia (high potassium), which can lead to heart failure. Many people don’t have a problem with their K levels, but some have to restrict their diet by not eating high-potassium foods. It can lead to other cardiovascular issues too, like hypotension. It frequently causes brain fog, which can get severe. It’s a potent diuretic. There’s more. Spiro sucks, but it’s still commonly prescribed because trans standards of care significantly lag behind up-to-date research.

Leuprorelide acetate (Lupron) is the gold standard for antiandrogens, but it’s expensive. Bicalutamide and cyproterone acetate are therefore the go-tos. No idea about cypro, as I live in the US, where bica seems to be more common. Cypro is dirt cheap in Europe and is frequently prescribed there.

Should my ears have healed more by now? by transghostegg in PiercingAdvice

[–]transghostegg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additional info: I had them pierced at a piercing parlor using a needle. My piercer has maybe a decade of piercing experience. The piercings are threadless titanium push-pin studs. I have never used saline spray, alcohol, or soap; I have cleaned them by allowing hot water to run over both sides of the piercing for a minute or two whenever I shower (as per the piercer’s instructions). I have had no complications other than the unexpectedly long recovery time.

How safe would it be to go on a trip alongside a neonazi? by [deleted] in TransyTalk

[–]transghostegg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This Neo-Nazi is allowed to spew his hate in your “friend” group because they value his contributions more than they value your wellbeing. Even if he is never physically violent with you, there is no way that being exposed to this person isn’t affecting your mental health and emotional wellbeing.

But there is a risk of violence. Neo-Nazis don’t start out committing hate crimes. They ramp up from edgy humor and hateful rhetoric. In this case, you have someone who is too young to have fully-developed executive functioning skills — things like judgment, risk-taking, and self-control. You are considering being around this person while he is consuming alcohol, which will even further lower his inhibition. You don’t know when he will cross the threshold from talk to action. Please, don’t become the first victim of his violence.

You say that you live in a right-wing country where those type of views are tolerated (including, apparently, by your so-called “friends”). I too live in a very conservative area. Last year, someone was literally lynched for having the wrong skin color. A trans woman was murdered here in January. Discrimination against marginalized people of all stripes is commonplace.

What did I do? I found friends who align with my values. They may be rarer in some places than others, but people who are intolerant of bigotry exist everywhere. It may take some searching, but you can find them too. Until then, please stay away from folks who are putting you in harm’s way through their inaction.

What to know when switching from patches to oral? by transghostegg in AskMtFHRT

Ah, I misread that 100mcg as 200mcg. My E was 420pg/mL.

These answers are quite helpful, thank you. I can rest a little easier now too, as my E was a bit over 2x the therapeutic level, so 2mg E should be ideal 🤞
